I bought something off EBay which was significantly not as described and was slightly damaged, the seller refused to give a refund... So I disputed it through Payapal and I won. I sent it back via first class recorded and put the tracking number in on PayPal. However I only get my refund when the seller signs for the package... And he won't sign for it. Either that or he wasn't in. I checked the trackin number online and it says that they tried to deliver it last Friday but no one was in, but they left a 'your were out card', but obviously the seller won't pick it up because he doesn't want the refund to be granted.

So I'm stuck. I could potentially lose my item an not get a refund.

Please, someone help?

Send a PayPal dispute.

They will take it from there and you may be protected up to $5,000 or whatever the payback is if they do not refund it.
Paypal deals with this a lot so be quick, give as much detail you (ID, Transaction #, How much paid for etc.) and they'll be willing to help you.

Hope it goes well for you!

It is within the ebay contracts that the seller refunds if the item isnt as described. Leave negative feedback, & keep on his case as alot of sellers will only hold up for so long. Also, if you put a return address on your package then it will be returned to you in about 3 weeks :)

PayPal just contacted me and said I need to send off a digital photocopy of the receipt for proof (I thought that was what the Tracking number was for?), anyway, I can't get a digital photocopy... Would I be able to send them a picture of the receipt instead?

They might accept it but it has to be very clear and defined. Can't you get yourself down to a place to photocopy it.

I sent a picture, it was clear and all details could be seen clearly, if they require a photocopy I'll have to try and fax it them or something.

No reply as of yet.

When i got a refund for a game that was supposed to be new but was blatantly used paypal refunded my money and i didnt even have to send the game back and the guy who sold it to me didnt have to pay because apparently it was 'outside of his responsibility' and it was the couriers fault or something? but either way he got his money i got mine back and got to keep the game but i dont know if they might have made it stricter now, if so then unlucky i guess.
