View Full Version : [+Rep] Cash For Phones Sites?
Okay, so I have an old mobile in my house and I thought of selling it on these Cash for Phones sites, what I need to know is who to trust and where is the best place to go.
I have had three quotes from three different websites, these are:
www.fonebank.com - £47
www.mazumamobile.com - £38
www.envirofone.com - £39
Obviously I want a good price for my phone so I was thinking with fonebank.com but, I have never heard of them and I don't know if I can trust a simple google search.
Does anyone know if I can trust them and who do you recommend I go with?
+Rep for good answers :)

Have you tried 02 recycle? http://www.o2recycle.co.uk/
In my experience the quote given is different from the price given out. I sent out two phones to a cash for phone website and was quoted at £45 for them both but I was only actually paid £32.
hmm :S What website was this, also i will try O2 just now :) +Rep <33

I suggest envirophone or mazumamobile as it is the most well known site. Even though fonebank has the best price, I have never heard of it. Mazumamobile and Envirophone have advertisements on the telivision, so I recommend going for one of those due to the fact I believe it is the most known.

It was 02 Recycle actually. I think damage/scratches to the phone dents the price so if you're wanting the full price you are quoted for you must ensure that the phone is in good, working quality.

£74.00 for my phone, ridiculous. Better off putting it on eBay!

More than certainly agree, I'd only get £95 for mine.

What is your phone?
Mazumamobile used to offer about £60 for my Milestone, even though at the time I could have got over £200 on ebay :P

I always see mazumamobile advertised on TV so I would say go for them. The first one you listed is most likley safe to use though.

I'd go Mazuma Mobile because I've heard a few criticisms and bad things about Envirofone so I'm not really trusting them. I don't know about fonebank so I wouldn't be able to help you on that one, sorry!

On www.sellmymobile.com the highest offered is 80.10GBP for my BB Curve 8520 by some company called Top Dollar Mobile.

People mean the websites where you send them your phone, and they give you money - you don't get your phone back :)
Not a Premium SMS service like you suggested :)

They are the highest paying though by a few pounds.

Just a word of advice, don't use envirofone because they took 2 weeks with my phone. I sent some off to mazuma and envirofone at the same time and received the cheque from envirofone 2 weeks later and the cheque from mazuma 3 days later.
Hope this helps :)
