Is there any news on this yet? like filming production or what?
I love the first three movies and theres been rumoured a fourth one for a while.
There was a script wrote a year back or so what only a few people scene and was terrible, about the idea of human dna mixing with dinosaur dna creating mutant-ants. but that idea got scrapped and worked on a new one?
I just think a 4th one could work really well if done good. It's just taking for ever to get done or took off.

I heard they cancelled any plans for a sequel because the creator of Jurassic Park (Michael Crichton) passed away.

It was cancelled but then put back on. A couple of weeks ago someone snagged a photo of a notice board outside of a soundstage at Universal Studios that read that it was in-production, so God knows what they're doing. Secret filming or a teaser trailer or something. Or of course it could have been nothing.

Universal confirmed that was fake of some one mucking about.
Just read another thing that an idea for a script is to be set in 2018 and people are on the island but its being filmed in a documentary type way as they wall have video cameras.

An entirely new script is being made in time for development later this year or 2012. Anything out there right now is fake or useless (scripts, ideas).

I hope it'll be good. and not in 3D.

It's bound to be in 3D.
The idea of a T-Rex running towards the screen actually sounds pretty appealing to me.
I would think they may go for a cloverfield display. shaky camera and all that garb

In fact off all the films that should/could have 3D, this would be the best.

1. 3D sucks.
2. Cinema verite ("shaky cam" would be horrible.

Narnia and Tron were horrible in 3D, although Avatar was quite good in 3D.

I like to pretend that Avatar doesn't exist...

To each their own I suppose, I enjoyed it :)

Horribly unoriginal. Groundbreaking 3D? Yes. Awful script, characters and recycled story? Yes.

Cinema verite, I think would be quite good. give it a bit more of a realness and put you in the scene. I personally really enjoyed cloverfield because of that

I thought Avatar was just okay, the story wasn't great, but Cloverfield was a big let down. I don't get interested in movies that never pay off. Oddly enough, I also am not a big fan of movies that try to over do it like Narnia and Avatar. I have a feeling that JP4 will be no different than the other blockbusters, lots of money and effects, recycled actors and a big promotional campaign.
