3DS Launches March 25th in Europe, 27th in America for £219 to £229 or $249.99

At their 3DS event in Amsterdam, Nintendo of Europe announced today that the 3DS will launch on March 25th. Interestingly, no specific price point was actually made. MCVUK, however, has confirmed that the device will cost anywhere between £219 to £229 depending on where you buy the device. There are around 30 confirmed “launch window” games (launch window is the time between March 25th and June 2011).

Meh, sounds over-hyped to me like the DSi but I might be wrong. I want to see how it goes before getting it though. The only games I'd get from there are resident evil, the driving games & Mario Kart though lol.

I doubt snake eater 3d will be released in that window, but out of the whole list its the only game I really want with some slight interest in splinter cell.

To those on the fence, probably two years later there will be a probably redesign and new colors (like the DS Lite). It might be worth it to wait. However, I can't with the games coming out (ZELDA!).

Last I checked Animal Crossing wasn't even confirmed for release this year, loads of places seem to miss it out when talking about any game being released this year for the DS/3DS. I'm trying to work out if £219 is a rip off... Will have to wait for the final product I guess :/

I hope the new AC isn't just a remake of ACWW for the DS. However i still believe that it was the best game (maybe second depending on the factors) made for the DS.

It's definitely not. The new AC for 3DS has you as the mayor of the time for the first time. I hope they add some interesting stuff to the gameplay, not like City Folk.

I still have my old original ds, although one of the plastic rings that connects the top bit to the bottom broke off ages ago. So it's very flimsy.

It's also ******* expensive! Understandable but strange for nintendo - a company that won the console wars by offering cheap affordable consoles.

The price imo will drop i'm guessing its high as its one of the first 3d portable consoles wait a bit and it'll go down as competitors try to have the lowest price, e.g. Amazon, Game, Play etc...
