No Outkast. Supremely disappointed. :'( The people who voted for this top ten should be ashamed. Nevertheless a great article all the way through. Surprised Gaga wasn't first though! But who better to take her spot than Rihanna. Now do the top ten indie songs of the past decade or the top ten bands/artists! :8

if i remember correctly, people had to pick 3 songs from a list he provided. so the list isn't truly valid in terms of members opinions.
but nevertheless, well done for doing it and look forward to seeing/doing the next one :)

this is correct. there were two stages, the first being that everyone chose whatever songs they liked and the ones that came up more than once or received a lot of critical acclaim made the short list.

Exactlly.
It's just a shame so many are terrible choices :(
What happened to:
Keane - Everybodys changing
Razorlight - America
OPM - Heaven is a half pipe (Ok mabey not a classic but i love it XD)
Evannessance - Bring me to life
Outkast - Hey ya
Akon - Lonley (haha)
Gorillaz - Fell good inc.
Coldplay - viva la vida
And this is just to name a few that should of been in the top 10.
The onlyone i fully agree with is Black eyed peas where is the love, which is a true classic which could of / should of taken the top spot.
Bring on the 90' with
Toploader - dancing in the moonlight
Oasis - Wonderwall
Aerosmith - I dont want to miss a thing
R.E.M - Loosing my religion
Eminem - Stan
MC Hammer - can't touch this
Hanson - MMmbop
There are actually so many "classics" from the 90's it's going hard for me to narrow my choices down to just 10 let alone 3 haha XD

Oh my, what happened to your spelling of Evanescence. :P Although I gotta say My Immortal is their best song in my opinion. Also definitely agree Gorillaz should have been on there and Outkast should have been in the top three. :(

Sorry about that i'm typing very fast.
heres more of my top picks from the 90's
Nivana - Smells like teen spirit
U2 - One
Celine Dion - My heart will go on (not my cup of tea but it's a "classic")
House of pain - Jump around
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice baby
Radiohead - Creep
Cyprus hill - Insane in the brain
As i said earlier i could go on for ever. 90's was so much better for music then the 00's
and i just realised, what in the name of living hell happened to Avril lavigene - Skater Boy.
Seriously not even in the top 10? wtf.

i agree, i wish those were on the list. maybe razorlight too but hmmm i dunno. i wanted where is the love to be number one, that's my favourite song of all time. as much as i love poker face i don't think it should have been in the top ten to be perfectly honest, it isn't my favourite of hers. definitely not rihanna for number one, but heyy if it's what the people want :P
hopefully more people know about this list now so when i do the 90s there will be more input to put in a wider range of opinions.
and when we choose the shortlist, you can list as many songs as you like.

If the list was based on nostalgia I think songs such as Sk8er Boi and Heaven is a Halfpipe would have been on there, but as much as I love Avril I wouldn't say Sk8er Boi is among the top ten songs of the last decade. :P

Haha i will be sure to take you up on that offer. And ya my favorite 3 songs of all time of.
1. Dancing in the moonlight - Toploaders
2. Where is the love - Black Eyed Peas
3. Dancing on the celing - Lionel Richie. ;)
and in my opinion it should be done on nostalgia aswell as these songs will be the ones remembered in 10-20 years time.
I doubt anyone will remember 4/5's of that chart.

90s will need to be at least a top 100, it would be difficult enough doing just a top 10 90s boyband hits or girlgroup hits or rnb hits etc, trying it for the entire decade across all forms of music in a time as diverse as the 90s can't be done surely :P

i see your point but i'm not writing three paragraphs each for 100 songs LOL
and i don't want to do a list because i dont see the interest in me just posting a massive list of songs for people to look at

what about doing a list of the top 50/100, then writing in detail on the top 10/15/20?

I sang everybody's changing so well as a high-pitched child. One of the best songs of all time easily.

yeah thats quite a good idea. i just wonder if there will be enough people who are willing enough to look through a list of 50 or 100 songs and pick out their favourites :P
it will be a lot of a work and take a while if i do it, but i will definitely think about it because i liked doing this one so 90s would be fun and interesting.
thats a crap top 10.. although i wouldnt expect much better

Do a top 25 List 25-15 then talk about top 10 ;)
Judas

what i will probably do is just let people pick as many songs as they like, make a list out of that then make the final list's length depend on how much feedback i get.
mehhh, i don't agree with the list at all, but it's all very well presented so well done :)!

You people were born in like 95 right? Even I don't remember the impact a lot of artists had in the 90s but even in my half-memory Toploader wouldn't make the top 100 let alone number 1

93" actually. And Toploader as they are, arn't a very famous band. However the song Dancing in the Moonlight is extremley well know and highly popular.

i actually hate that song LOL only because my local radio station play it literally like every single day, and my mum always had that station on in the car when i was little and i've heard it way way way too many times :P
but these opposing views are good!
