Things Habbo & Runescape can learn from each other

This is my personal view but I think Habbo & Runescape could learn from each other in a few ways:

1. Runescape can learn that if you ADD someone then they should be told you've added them and be able to accept you onto their friends list, or decline - like habbo. Because I have people on my friends list who haven't added me back, and people who talk to me who I haven't added. The Friends system on RS is a mess.

2. Habbo can learn that once in a while it needs to look back and think "was that really a good idea?" Like runescape, I think Habbo should have a referendum on things like the marketplace, trade pass, the **** instead of bobba, Hobbas and Habbo X's etc. Because as it has with Runescape - it will make older players want to return because it's the habbo they remember.

3. Habbo can learn that stealing ideas doesn't always work. Runescape brought out the Grand Exchange, a few years later out comes the Marketplace - with exactly the same concept. Alas - the GE boomed but the MP just ruined rare values. Because habbo isn't a game where that kind of thing works.


My mind has just gone blank but yeah I think habbo & runescape should take those into account. Not that they'll ever read this or whatever but still that's my view :)

Have you seen the activity Runescape has been getting since the vote? Yes - players grow up and get older. But what about the players who were 12/13 then quit because they took away the wildy and are now 14/15/16 and have heard the wildy is coming back?

Maybe some things for habbo are too old now for anyone who played it to actually care because they took them away so long ago but I still think habbo could learn from actually seeing whether or not the players WANT these changes.

Not true, many people on the forum who used to play RS are now going back to it because of the changes. Quite likely the same would happen for some people with habbo.

Also i agree with Robbie on the three things he said. They can both learn from each other, however sulake in particular from jagex.

First of there are a lot of forum users who have been on habbo since/near the start just to give an example. However rather i was talking about the more recent things, if you read robbies post he talks about the marketplace which is a very recent addition to habbo. So people may come back after a year or two or more, it's very possible.

People from 04-05 BEFORE any crap updates any of this badge an rare releases any new furni wouldn't come back after 6 years I couldn't give a flying freak about new people (07-now) it was better before any updates which was 04-05 so how would it affect any1 who started after that? Why would they want to come back to something which was different to when they started everyone joined at different times so to everyone the good old days is when they joined and since rs wasn't updated tht much b4 freetrade (2 years ago) so to most ppl on rs if they joined b4 freetrade was taken away then they could well come back since its only 2 years, but wht is sulake gna do? Try an rewind the server differently on different updates to please people who joined over the last 6 years? No.. which is why its wrong and wnt work

Over the years, updates have become more and more frequent on habbo. So why wouldn't later users who don't like newer updates not rejoin if something was changed? If you can't understand this you mustn't have been on habbo after 04-05 and so can't really argue in this thread.

Are you serious with that question? If games were never updated/expanded, people would stop playing very quickly. For example if blizzard never released any expansions for wow, do you really think it would still beas successful as it is today? It's perfectly reasonable to suggest many people would come back to a different game.

Obviously they'll never please every single person, but the vast majority (like in any democracy) is good enough.

The friend system on runescape is fine, and I don't see anything wrong with it. If someone just comes and randomaly adds you and speaks, and you're not interested, you can put them on ignore. Or, even better, you can make it so your friend list is private, meaning you have to add them for them to appear online for them, which is basically like confirming a friendship.

It's confusing though. Honestly they've made it too complicated. I never knew about the private thing - that's new to me lol.

Eion you still don't get it fml, yeh blizzard updates and expands but is aulake blizzard? Wht expansion pak are sulake gna bring out? Halloween costumes xpansion? I don't think so most updates on habbo pissed ppl off so I'm saying most of them would want to return to when they firat joined how they knew it, now with ppl joining everyday how will they change it back to make everyone happy? You might bring wht a 100 bk tops cos there has been so many updates you can't change it back to suit everyone which is why it wouldn't work as I said u might get 100 back but then you have people leave when they don't like something
