Even when you set them to low sensitivity they are over-sensitive and jitter all over the place even when you've left the mouse to sit still. Gets very annoying watching full screen video since it brings up the progress bar all the time.

Even though this is a "gaming mouse" I see no advantages of using it over an optical one (Ones with a red light at the bottom), when trying to precisely aim with a sniper the jitter is enough to totally knock your aim out, and evenever you turn around you get a bouncing effect.

Now this isn't a problem just with this mouse, because it's happened with others i've used. I've tried pretty much every available setting for the mouse, checked it had the latest drivers, reinstalled drivers, tried lots of different surfaces to use the mouse on such as non reflective ones which are recommended. But all had the same problem.

Anything else I should try? Or perhaps any suggestions on some settings.

What kind of surface are you using?

I've yet to find a mouse that's sensitive enough for me to get a god damn sniper shot in BF:BC2 :l I'll sit there, clear sight of someone's head but if I move my mouse I just cant get the crosshair directly on their head, no matter how careful I am :(

Wood (varnished). But I tried it on cardboard, plastic, a mousemat and all had the same problem.

Lol, the mouse I have is so sensitive on its highest dpi it travels accross the whole screen when you move the mouse about half a centimeter.

i use my old mousepad upside down as anything other than plain black seems to not work.

I'm not surprised then. Was the mousemat a cheap one from argos?

You need to get yourself a real gaming mousemat.

Was a "specialised" mousemat I picked up at a gaming expo

I use that mouse mat with my Razer Naga and I must say it is extremely accurate!

I use a Logitech MX518..
Doesn't jitter for me, great feel of a mouse as well as the grip is still good.

I use it on a wooden desk, so yeah. Ex-Heavy gamer.

I see.

I would think something is wrong with the mouse then. I can't seem to find any reviews on it (if it's the same one as in your system build thread).

I use a cheap laser mouse (£3 off the car boot), PC Line, and it works fine with my HTPC. For the record, I use it on a smoked glass top, on top of a black Ikea cabinet. It can wander when not being touched occasionally, but other than that it's OK.

It works fine on top of a DVD case...

Managed to overcome the problem a little by turning the dpi right down to 400 and compensating for loss of sensitivity with the windows settings. It does however still move slightly by itself once in a while so my pc would probably never go to screensaver.

Wonder why they even went on to using laser mice, optical was fine.

My laser mouse is fine. Laser mice are bettrer than optical if you get a good one dur.

Laser mice allow for higher DPI (dots-per-inch) than Optical mice. DPI is what allows for precise scanning of mouse movement.
Laser mice typically operate at 2000 DPI while Optical mice generally operate at 400-800 DPI.
Normal mouse function can be achieved even with the low-end of the DPI spectrum (400 DPI). Only pro gamers or computer artists will be able to benefit from the extreme sensitivities provided by laser mouse tracking

Mine does over 5000dpi

Higher isn't always better. It's normally down to the quality of the tracker laser.

How heavy is the mouse? If it's super light, then it could cause it to move slightly I guess?

it's well weighted, I think the sides are made of an alloy
