Now, I know some of you will make a stupid comment, or won't comment at all, but I hear everyday after going to the cinema that people say "I could do better than that" or "The same old rubbish, over and over again" So. Hearing stuff like that makes me think, If you could do better, what would you do, what would your film be about?
Thanks
Matt

Well, I can't really answer this by law, so... I'll leave it to others.

lolol I've sometimes thought that. I'd love to do films like Christopher Nolan. Very thought-provoking and yet entertaining at the same time but I don't think I'd be able to pull it off and certainly wouldn't want to do it as a career. :D
As for ideas, don't have any. If I ever think of something that makes me think 'wow', I'll definitely try and write it though even if it's just for fun and not technically right.

I keep having ideas and when I start writing it and show drafts people keep saying to me "Hey, this has been done." I recently watched a film called EDEN LAKE, throughout the film I thought it was familiar, then I though, hey wait a minute, This has been done. Think back to 1970's and Wes Craven's 'Last house on the left' or alternatively the 2009 version.

Yes, Eden Lake is in the same vein as Last House on the Left, but it's still its own movie. In fact, Last House is a rip-off of Ingmar Bergman's The Virgin Spring, and was originally going to be a hardcore porn film.
A house stops receiving its post and the guy complains, but it turns out three different postmen have died on his street. One cold morning there is a knock on the door and a shivering postman is on the other side.
"Sign here... sir..."

I'm currently working on a script based around the crime and gangster genre, about a middle aged man who gets involved in armed robbery and drugs. The climax of it results in one of the four men getting killed in a bank robbery gone wrong.

If you're writing a script, NEVER give your story away.

The parts I have given away, are quite vauge tbh, it doesn't really give away much of the plot what so ever, but I supose your right :L
I always find myself coming up with new film ideas :L it's just writing them down and progressing them that I don't usually do :L.
