Questions to ask a magistrate?

I'm just wondering what to ask them really.. as I can't think of much I want to find out but I want to use the opportunity that we are having next week to speak to one. It's sort of the career route I want to follow.. sort of, as I want to be a lawyer.

I'd ask 'what do you make of the recent proposals coming from Brussels for a pan-European justice system, surely you object to the ending of our ancient common law along with the bill of rights and habeas corpus?' - of course i'm more interested in the political side of it, you'll know more relevent questions. But it'd be interesting to see what the mood amongst those in the justice system is.
