I have this "best friend" and she's such a douche, here's my problem.
I ask her to come out and she always makes excuses, we didn't even see each other over Christmas to exchange gifts.
She doesn't text me for a month
Doesn't invite me to her 18th birthday party
Then texts me today like nothing is wrong and everythings all spiffy and well so I ignored her.
Am i over exaggerating or should I text her?

She's your friend but didn't invite you to her 18th? I would just ignore her, she doesn't sound like a good friend.

She's apparently my "best friend" i'm the only one who really spoke to her after we finished school and went to college, except when like we went to parties but yeah she didn't invite me to her 18th.

um she sounds exactly like me lol but she probably doesn't realize she's doing it. there is nothing stopping you from texting her or making any plans. i don't text my friends often, i don't exchange gifts with them and i didn't invite them out for my birthday. they were the ones that asked me if i wanted to do something.. but if she was having a party with people and not her best friend then yeah i guess that's kinda douchey. she's maybe using you, why don't you just tell her you're upset about that instead of ignoring her? she might have an excuse that's not worth falling out over. i make excuses all the time to my friends, not cause i don't wanna spend time with them i just want to stay at home and not hurt their feelings (A) but idk your friends, the party thing kinda sucks

yeah that's the thing i did text her and make plans with her for ages, and she made excuses so i gave up and then she clearly didn't care cause she never text me. We exchange birthday/christmas gifts every year and we have done for ages but apparently not this year :').
And yeah i may text her and tell her that i'm gutted about it, thanks :)

Sounds like this is a friendship would could be slowly dying out or she likes control of it - I would do the unexpected and not text her back to show her you are not a 'walkover'. Not inviting you to her 18th Birthday party sounds rediculous if she says you are her 'best friend'. What does she to to people that aren't? :O Lets us know what happens. :)
I agree with Catzsy, a friendship is a lot like a relationship and there is a good deal of give and take.
This does not sound like a friend to me but a manipulator/user. Do as suggested and see if she bothers to badger you over why you haven't replied. One of my best friends went to Australia for 2 years yet we still managed to talk to each other once a week.

She's gone back to this other person who she used to talk smack about to me and just basically laugh at, so that makes me laugh a lot :')
and i brought my facebook back because i got rid of it, so i wanna see if she'll try and talk to me on there.

This. My friend is like this sometimes whenever i ask whether he wants to go out somewhere or just hang out he always makes excuses and then moans when i give up and don't ask him to go anywhere. so i know what you mean.

I think you need to look at it from both sides. There could be a reason why shes being like this. Not to say that it's your fault. I often feel that I just sometimes can't be bothered with people or going out and this is just due to stress ect. However I think it is worth you both to have a little chat but instead of saying oh you never do this this and this maybe say I feel that were lacking this this and this as it will make the situation a little bit more at ease. Good luck!

Doesn't seem to be much of a friend. Just confront her.
