Could Moderators please start taking the initiative to move threads like this...
http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=685084

...into the spam forum, most threads in spam are more productive than those being created in Discuss Anything these days.

Thread closed by Hecktix (Assistant General Manager): As it involves unnecessary targetting and insulting of staff.

I must admit,

http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=685462

has more discussion than that.

Inseriousity.

I have a post in that thread so it should stay where it is :P

lolol oj, the OP says it's 'kinda pointless' so looks to be a no-brainer really!

Yeh, in my opinion that thread belongs in spam, it doesn't really have much depth to it and theres not much you conversation you can go into.

~ Do not posts threads which only allow for short, one or two word answers and do not promote active discussion.

Job done, could moderators start enforcing this rule like they should be, k thnx.

It's marginal but seems to be attracting posts with reasonable replies. We leave them sometimes to see what happens. I would say it's fine where it is, personally. You also have the option of using the report button. :)

There are like four posts which aren't:

<date> <month>

I'd hardly call that a reasonable reply.

I tried to come up with a reason for why it's there but I can't find one - there's no real conversation, and just because it has a poll doesn't mean it can't be in spam!?

But the majority are okay and it's over 5 pages long. Are there are any other threads like this as if , if not, it doesn't really seem to be a huge problem and could have queried via the report button.

If it was moved into spam it would render the thread somewhat irrelevant, it has an active poll too.

Poll = can't be moved... HOW?

I'm also not sure how it's irrelevant whilst in spam.

Well it just looks like a bit of a rant to me and members cannot discuss sackings anyway.
The reasons have already been given to you above as to why the thread is in Discuss Anything.
There maybe threads of more substance in spam but the members chose to post them there and
we don't move them. It's their choice.

Justify why this thread in particular is suddenly exempt from forum rules.

This rule
"~ Do not posts threads which only allow for short, one or two word answers and do not promote active discussion."
is specifically designed to combat this type of thread, if moderators won't get off their arses and enforce it then they should be fired.

Because the point of the thread is to discover which months members were born in and collect said information in a poll - something which a lot of forums do. If it was to be moved to spam, discussion would become completely off topic and ruin the thread. As it is, there's no real "spamming" in that thread as most members have only posted once or twice.

It's not being run by forum management and there's a rule which it is violating. FACT.

There is no discussion at the moment anyway so I don't see what the problem is.

With respect, one thread that perhaps slipped the net on the first day but attracted replies the majority of which are a lot more than one or two words is perfectly fine. If it had atracted a majority of replies of just one or two words then you would have a complaint. In any event
there is moderator discretion which was used and I am not sure that we have to justify it anyway.

I DO have a complaint, because it has "atracted a majority of replies of just one or two words".

If the rule isn't being enforced on the type of thread it's aimed at then why bother keeping it. It is not your job to decide whether a rule is correct or not but to enforce it, granted, discretion, but NOT on the thread it was intended for.

The Moderators and Administrators have the right to use their discretion in regard to the rules when executing punishments as a result of rule violation.

This exactly. If that thread was moved to spam it would just turn completely off topic. There is nothing wrong with where that thread is and myself, for one, actually find it quite interesting. There are plenty more than just 5 posts in there that aren't just stating what month their birthday is too. What would be the point of moving that thread to Spam, it isn't spam at all.

FACT. :)

That is not en-keeping with the spirit of what you quoted, this is intended for where there is a post that violates a rule but does not fit the criteria of what it is preventing. This does violate the rule AND satisfy the criteria of what the rule is trying to prevent.

I also noticed that a whole bunch of moderators enjoyed their:

<day> <month>

Free posts, as a result your opinion is biased and therefore I no longer care of your opinion.

Moderators had clearly seen it.
Super Moderators had clearly seen it.
The forum manager had CLEARLY seen it.

This thread is aimed at general management, not the completely upside down forum department which can't do it's job.

And it is not just one thread, I have brought up this isssue in the past but moderators seem to feel that they shouldn't close 'Post your' threads that they like.

2. That they ignore it because they don't like it. I don't think posting in a thread pointless or is a crime though. :P

I'd rather it not be swept under the carpet like every other negative comment about habbox. And if a moderator does take the liberty of 'moving it for me' out of 'generosity' then I'll just open a new thread.

Yes that's what we are ' the corrupt mod department'. Let me link you to a post by Slowpoke who seems to understand it quite well: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=685647&p=6971969#post6971969

Quite frankly, you try this on every month and I'm bored of it. Each month you get the same reply from Forum and General Management, there is nothing wrong with those threads it's discussing a valid topic - what month peoples birthdays are in, looking through the thread most of the posts aren't pointless at all and contribute to the topic, it's not a random topic which people reply to millions of times - it's asking for factual information and building a poll to show the data, if it were in spam the thread would go off topic and therefore prove utterly useless.

I'm really glad you aren't a moderator because there were days when this forum was ridiculously too strict and you seem to want to go back to them, I'm going to close this thread now because you seem adamant on insulting our staff - who have all replied to this thread and being their boss, I'm at liberty to say the work they've done in this thread, is bloody excellent so keep it up mod department.
