Not much has been released yet, except a couple of mockups, and a few unverified leaked photos, but it's bound to be announced at the Mobile World Congress in a couple of weeks! :D
Really looking forward to it, being a big fan of the original Desire! Fingers crossed for improved battery life from the Desire HD!

Nice, also liking the fact they kept the main Desire kinda design going.
Still moving to WP7 or iOS when my contracts up for renewal though.

^ What he said. How come? What makes Windows Phone 7 more desirable (lol) than Android? Assuming your current phone is an Android one.

I will never change from Android! Well, as far as the future foresees! :D

He believes Android is going down hill. He can't be bothered with the hassle such as rooting for features like WiFi tethering and the roms and so on have problems and all that jazz.
But to be honest, I'm also thinking about moving away from Android. Well I'm looking for a new phone and not sure whether to stay or not or wait until the updates are out for WP7 and move over to there, as I quite like the interface. Anyhow, I'm sure tom will explain himself further soon! :P

In all honesty, Android is a fantastic OS with a lot of potential, but now I think it's delivering too little too late. Unfortunately fragmentation IS becoming a problem, to keep on the latest ROM you're pretty much forced to root because HTC take so long to deliver official updates and the Market is full of crap nowadays.
Yes, it's fun to play around with but now I just want a simple phone OS that does exactly what I want, quickly, whilst looking pretty, which I think iOS or WP7 offers more so than Android.
And the frequent software bugs are becoming an issue too, I thought the random OS reboots was a bug on the rooted ROM I was using, but I've seen it happen multiple times on different phones running stock firmware such as the Desire HD, Legend and SanFrancisco.

I have to admit, WP7 does look impressive. The problem with Android is that there are too many Apps that go on the Market that don't necessarily work well with the phone. Plus you have the problem with all these different types of phone which require more or less power to operate the OS. So both the phone manufacturers and Android are to blame - if the phone companies cannot make a clean cut edit to the OS or the phone to work well then they're doomed to failure, as well as the individual app developers. The good thing about Android is that Google work fast enough to make new updates to the OS which make it ahead of the competition, but they're limited to what the phones the OS is going on are capable of. Hopefully Android/Google (whatever) tackle this problem. WP7 seems like the happy medium between iOS and Android. Obviously I won't explain my views on iOS/Apple as it would be a wasted thread :P

Google seem to make the updates fast but then we have to wait ages for the updates due to the carriers. Then it's only the very latest devices that actually get these updates "officially" while the rest of us have to go the rooted way.

I personally wouldn't consider iOS - one, because I am against their ludicrous pricing for a phone that really isn't that good. I also dislike everyone going mental over a phone (prefer not to follow the 'craze').
WP7 looks impressive, but I don't full understand the interface - all the random sized red tiles seem strange?

Do you get different colours?
I always seem to see red? :P
I think its based on the colour of the network.
i like the htc design on phones in general, it's quite good looking. if i hadn't have got an iphone 4 i'd have probably gone for a htc, they look really smoooooooth and hot

There is a range of colours the tiles can be, although depending on the network will depend on what the default colour will be at the start but still changeable.
So:
Red = Vodafone
Blue = O2
Orange = Orange

I like how blue is the only one that has the word blue coloured in as well :P There's an interesting article on Mashable about Windows Phone 7 and how it should start chucking out updates to keep it up with the competition. I'll see if I can find it.
