Hey not really trying to advertise, just wondered what you think of this blog I made a few months back and re-found the link just now. I just kind of had a bit of a rant on the x factor and what I felt the show was missing

Not being nasty here but although you're saying "I'm not trying to advertise" you are.
The main issue for me is that the X Factor tries to sound like it’s looking for something different, like the X Factor is something unique and that the people behind the show and judges are looking for something unusual. Well I can tell you that is a complete lie, mainly because they believe, and sometimes it is sadly true, tried and tested methods sell more.
Completely agree with what you've said here!
I’ve heard by a few people (I cannot confirm this sadly) that you have to see the producers first, sing for them, and some good and some bad are picked – some good never get even to the judges. As I said, I cannot deny or confirm this, but it does sound interesting.
This I think is true, my friend went in for BGT and she had to meet the dance choreographer before she met the judges.
I think people decide not to write their own songs on the X Factor because when Chico did he got voted out that week or the week after, no matter how annoying that song was you have to admit, they've probably learnt from other peoples' mistakes.

Well I really wanted to share my opinions and thought most people wouldn't want me pasting it all on, that could be a long read lol.
And yeah Chico does show it can go wrong, but it can go right to. I was watching Never Mind The Buzzcock's a few weeks back, with the legendary Jack Dee annoying Jedward - and Eliza Doolittle was on and Jack was asking why she never went on the X-Factor and it was because she liked to write her own songs. Jack Dee obviously laughed at the fact that she could write her own songs - unlike Jedward.
I just think the x factor tries to make it look like its looking for the next greatest thing, something new and something special and unique but it is just a cover (a bad one), to hide the fact it just wants a manufactured artist
About seeing the producers first?
YES. You do... My sisters friend went on the show and auditioned, they had to line up infront of the procuers and sing for like 15 seconds, and on that 15 seconds they would decide whether they get to see the judges or not - you don't really think the judges see thousandssssss of people every day do you? xD

No but I think it shows that good people get thrown away just for entertainment purposes

Yeah its true. They have to audition before they get picked and they pick a mixture of well.. totally crap people & good people and quite a few decent people. It makes great television, but it is sad.. they get peoples hopes up and for what? So everyone can laugh at them on national television?
