WHERE IS IT? I AM BORED OF WAITING? I QUIT.
No, joking.
But ANYWAY :L
I was wondering if Version Six was having a good user involved user system (I am sure I heard it was?) If so, could there be an option to have the radio stop automatically when signed in? I think this would be a nice little feature to have - or even, although this might be too complex, have it so you can turn it off at a certain time of day?

Hmm interesting idea.
You just gave me an idea.
It's probably rather complex but..
a little pop up when a certain DJ comes on - or is supposed to be anyway? Like, you set your "favourite DJs" then whenever you're on the site and the DJ is booked in 5 minutes it just has a little pop up reminder saying "DJ X is on in 5 minutes!" or something?

That would be great! I will be honest, I wouldn't mind waiting a little bit longer for original, useful features like that.
---
Also, not sure if this would speed the website up, but could you have it so each user could hide certain areas of the website? Hence meaning less things to load - after all if I were to use the website (and iof the user features etc are good, I will) - I would want to hide things like rare values.

At the moment in terms of player controls it has a volume slider, a pause and play button and then a off button which will stop the stream from playing indefinitely.
I like the idea of being able to set it only to play between a user specified range of hours though. That can definitely a feature for users who are signed in :)

Omg we are on fire ;) lol great idea there again. And also maybe being able to customise the site? So you can move the text boxes which suit you, hide ones you don't want/need etc?
And, and, and omg. For rare values, you could maybe have a list of "rares to watch"...basically, you have rares which you want to see the values of and "watch them" so you short list them and then you have a little widget tell you if they've gone up or down since your last visit, by how much, and their current value?
I honestly wouldn't mind waiting until march if these types of things were added.

Just be careful, we don't want a Duke Nukem forever on our hands, if you keep moving the finishing line you'll never get there. You can always have V6.1 or V6.2. I just hope this doesn't end up like vista, way late and way bloated with too many features, although I'm sure Jin was conservative when drawing up the specs.
Inseriousity.

I believe user interactivity was central to the plans, which I think is just what most fansites lack. Hopefully we'll be able to offer something unique even if it did take a while. :D

Vista turned out not bad after Service Pack 1 though! But as Jin stated in the other thread the first few releases will be functional releases.

Not quite sure about hiding what you are saying there, in terms of hiding things from the navigation/menus? But there will be some customization for the users indeed.

Vista never really improved, Windows Server 2008 on the other hand, that thing is a piece of art nowadays since R2. So just release a server version of Habbox and.. it's all good.
I forgot that Jin actually talked about multiple releases, silly me.

All I'm going to say to these posts are, you're going to have to wait until it's released to see what it's like!

This is an excellent idea Rob, and I've just implemented it. Five minutes before a new DJ is coming online it will alert the user.

Why thanks Dave :) glad to see you're taking it on board! Perhaps - if it's not too much trouble - you could make it so the user could chose which DJs they want to be alerted for?

I think there could be abit of controversy in me deciding to doing that, I'm going to leave that decision upto the Radio Manager and Community AGM :P

Okey Dokey. I'm just being realistic here...not every listener will like every DJ, and hence if they're alerted every hour about DJs they don't like - will get annoyed. Hench why I suggest making it so that they can set it for certain DJs, so that they know when their favourite DJs are.

Just to repeat, please don't expect miracles from the first version of v6 we release as it will be the most basic basic basic basic version for functionality, HOWEVER threads like these will be expected from you guys afterwards as we become sure our system works and therefore start adding features that people want to use (or not use...)... this website should be quite revolutionary however after release will take a reasonable amount of time to reach this state, one step at a time ;)

by "alert the user" you don't mean a pop-up box do you? that would get annoying if you do.

Not a messagebox like that, it's a notification in the top right - you don't have to hit close on it or anything like that!
Kind of like great.la's? I like that little box, any chance it could work for events too?

I've never seen Great.la's notifications, although I'll look into adding notifications for events when I get home from class today :)

Yeah threads like these should be posted AFTER v6 release :) As the ideas are good, but some have already been built into v6 (not going to say which ones) So it'll be better after V6, when there was something you wanted to see but didn't make it into the release.
I know i'd love to see some feedback on the new RV system.
I reckon v6 should be directly hyperlinked to www.habbox.com/comps
Keep the ideas coming in fellas, the more the better
Edited by HotelUser (Forum Super Moderator): Please don't post pointlessly, thanks!

Come off it Dan! Do you really think I would remember things like this in a few months time?! When I think of an idea I will post it, perhaps someone could make an account and subscribe to any threads with good ideas for V6 in them? After all - I know for one that I have a memory like a fish!

With all due respect, I am fine with you guys playing this joke - but at least try and contribute to the thread too :) Thanks!
I like a lot of the ideas raised in this thread.
I think it would be sensible for us to carry on as planned however, whilst we are going through our functional releases it would be good to hear about features that users would like implemented in the panel. By the end of the styling releases we should have a good idea of what works and what doesn't and we could go on to adding some of the member requested features.

I do agree here Jin. I would rather see a stable release etc, and then more features could be added. I just really hope Habbox does not stop once they have a stable release - I would love to see Version 6 truly be the best fansite in the world (in terms of the website).

It won't be months!!! :)
Lol i sounded well harsh and serious in that post for some reason :S
Anyways what i meant is, alot of people seem to automatically think that we won't have included these features in V6 already, just wanted to make it clear that we do listen and we've already implemented alot of the thing already.
No harm in suggesting some new items, i'm sure there will be tons more after the release.
