Hey, check out my new short film I did for a University project as part of my Degree in Film & TV Production. There's talks about possibly turning it eventually into a mini web series.

Tell me what you think

Thanks.

Just to add a few have noticed the lack of a beginning. Some footage was lost but even still the film didn't really explain that the person at the start and end (young girl), is the guy's daughter. If we do take this further into a little series a lot would be explained throughout the series.

It's a good production, as a university project. But I find it quite dull. Maybe a bit more speaking and action.

Yeah if we did a mini web series it would have a lot more explanation spread out over time. Just didn't want too much crammed into so little time.

But I do think a bit of an explanation at the start would have been handy

A shot that showed both faces for reactions would have been better than close ups. Apart from that and how it looks like its stretched 4:3 its good for an amateur production.

Yeah scheduling at times could be a pain - like the fight scene we didn't have loads of time to plan it and one of the actors had to catch a train. But it turned out a lot better than I hoped

Nicely shot for the most part. Actors are horrible though, but what can you do.

Yeah, the main was used to doing theatre work and found it hard doing everything out of order, got confused with it lol

The devil has been in a few things often as extras, body double in kick ass, a little role in that morgana show thing (which I can't get at all ha). I think his laughter went a bit too much pantomime like.

Quite good. I like the camera angles in most parts.
My guess on who the little girl is: A passed away daughter, maybe?
Favourite moment would be 3:11.
Improvements:
When they were at the bar or whatever it was, and the piano sort of music came on, it kinda felt misplaced. Felt rather odd when the music was calm and then it went all rock/action music.
+Rep.

yeah the idea was that he was chasing him into a rock bar - all the music we used was actually royalty free stuff that we got online.

In the future I'd love to hire musicians to work on full scores

Certainly much better than my attempt then again there were many reasons mine was so rushed (such as the teacher being off for all of three weeks of the course -.-)
The only real complaint is the actors but it's completely understandable given that they are amateurs working for free (I presume?)

Would be interested to see more, hoping you start a mini-series soon.

Sadly actors cost

£20 an hour, travel expenses, accommodation and food while on set

It cost us £100 just to get one guy there and back as he was from London.

Oh yeah forgot to add the whole thing about the music. Because of some footage lost it wasn't of obvious. Originally the idea was that the demon guy had been around for a long time, maybe all the main's life. He keeps hearing a music box everything the guy is near, which is linked to his daughter. He has nightmares, with an eye and music box.

A lot more stuff would be explored and explained if it did turn into a series

i like that concept, shame some of the footage was lost. i thought it was really good, creepy :P some of the sound was a bit off in places but i think you pulled it off well, good job + rep

I thought that the scene where he looks through the photos could have used better lighting. I couldn't see most of them because of the reflection from the light.

Good short though. Enjoyed it.

I think that was the directors intention, or he likes how it shows now anyway's ha - they where gory photos and it kind of helps leave some imagination
