My schools closed on thursday due to a strike!

I've actually never heard of a school strike before? What does it involve and how does it happen exactly?

Lucky you I s'pose but good luck catching up on more time with your school work because of it.

It's the teachers union getting a bit peed so decide to call a strike. The teachers had one at my school for the school day change, resulting in them having longer hours for no real reason as the longer day was just adding time to our lunch which nobody wanted.

There was a nationwide union strike here last year. Since I was in a boarding school though I just got no classes.

Nope our school never had any strikes and only closed if it was the last resort :@

Yes but it was during a Teacher Training Day so we had the day off anyway ;l

Left school a long time ago but only some of my teachers did the strike, so still had to go :(

The last time there was a strike only like a few teachers went on strike so the school didn't close.

The students at my school went on strike once, because it was apparntly too hot to work. Everyone sat in the field protesting :L I didn't and neither did anyone in my form really but about 50 people were sitting on the field refusing to go to lessons :L

Lol, we tryed that once, all got after school. There was like 40 of us. Lol. Good times.

Nope my school has Never been on a strike!

A couple of years the NUT went on strike and my school was closed as like 60 teachers were on strike lol.

Our school would never close, never. They always stay open until the problem is real bad. So I doubt that strike would stop anything over here!
