Javascript prompt & PHP?

Hey,

Is there a way to get the Prompt's inputted value via PHP without having to put a redirect in the javascript code?

Basically I want is like...

JS Prompt:
What date was this Job complete?
* User inputs answer *

On the click 'ok' I want it to enter it into a database...
Any ideas?
