Right, recently I've dropped out of my college because I hated the a levels I was doing and i disliked the teachers. (they didn't really help you). And in september I will be entering education again. What do you all think of these A-Levels:
+Computing
+Graphics
+ICT (Applied)
+Photography
What do you think of these choices? and in graphics, is that just photoshop because i'm not very good at drawing and don't want to do it expecting it all to be on computers when it's not :L
What are you intending to do afterwards?
If its univeristy then i cant see them thinking very highly of photography and ICT

Yeh, I wan't to go to uni afterwards, definetly. Erm, I could change photography but I really like ICT :l what would you recomend me change photography to?

ICT is regarded higher than most people first think, but even so, there are other better ones like maths and the sciences.
But yeah as said above photography probably won't be very highly regarded. Then again, that's only if you're going to university.
Just make sure you know what you want to do after sixth form and make sure you're making the right choices!
Depends what you wanna do in uni really. And ICT is honestly just a waste subject, atleast it is in my school. From what i know unis dont really look at it as much and as far as the actual lesson goes its just making powerpoints and incredibly boringness.
but then theres someone who knows more like above perhaps :p ^

University isn't a certainty. If you enjoy those subjects, then take them. There is more than one route to take! :)

I wan't to do either graphics at uni, but I feel this would be a waste as that degree doesn't seem worth it, or maybe programming. If not those two then probably architecture or maybe business. Are there no 'All rounder' subjects that pretty much help with any degree?
Well take a look at various unis for those degrees and see what they want. And try and adjust yoursellf to that
I know that if you intend to go into the programming route (Computer Science at uni), then you NEED maths, and they like you to have further maths or physics, but is not essential.

all i'm going to say is - if you wanted to do business at uni, you don't necessarily have to take business at a level. sure, it helps - but it's not completely needed. goes the same for a lot of subjects.

This. Literally yesterday they said that maths is needed but, as niamh said, it isn't really needed. What I done personally was chose 2 sets of 2 subjects which are similar and can aid towards a certain career path.

Don't get me wrong I don't know much about it, personally I didn't take it but apparently it's becoming more recognised because of the way we rely on computers and how someone may want to employ someone who has knowledge of computers over someone who doesn't
Graphics is heavily biased on drawing afaik.
I did it at GCSE and it was crap.

For what you just said you want to do - I'd take:
Computing
Maths
Graphics
Business studies
Maths is a good all-round subject, or maybe physics/chemistry.
jesus christ if they are the same exam board as my college you will have tons of work.

Graphics @ my college consist of some drawing + ICT isnt all powerpoints we do databases, some web designing, writing small programs, building computers and all basic office skills, Uni's might not like it but im getting an apprenticeship in management so its nice to have alongside my business A level.

I had no idea what I wanted to do after college, I just took a broad range of subjects which I thought I would enjoy.
I took graphics, geography, media and business and that got me onto my environmental science degree.
If you are looking to do graphics at university then may I suggest using the course search tool at Ucas.com and picking a few universities to see what their entry requirement is.
This will help you select appropriate A-levels in order to get into that degree.

I hope you're joking? It's definitely not regarded higher by any, with a few top uni's not even counting it at all.

I would take a science, just for a back-up. It looks good to have one too.

All your topics look very ict based. Ict is a good course but try something a little more of the computer. It will give you breath and possibly be alot more fun

Photography, is seen as, and is in my opinion, a waste of a subject in terms of university. I also think ICT is a bit of a waste, however the others should be fine. :)

ICT and Photography won't get you very far in terms of Uni IMO.
You don't necessarily need Maths if you want to go down the Computer Science route, I've recently picked my firm and insurance Uni choices for CS, Hertfordshire didn't ask for A Level maths but Loughborough did so I applied for a foundation course. Just food for thought if you're like me and wouldn't have stood a chance at A Level maths. Also, you should take physics.

The thing is I hated science :l I got a B overall but I really didn't understand a lot of things in it so that's why I haven't chose a science subject.

Honestly if you cant handle maths a level, there is no way in hell you're gonna be able to understand physics. But ALL of the unis ive looked at have needed maths for a level. Id just check what unis you'd wanna apply to

Well, debatable, I see where you're coming from but I know a fair few people who dropped Maths and just stuck with Physics because they were so alike (yet said Physics was easier)

Does not compute. :P Just cant imagine physics being easier than maths
