Hey,
I thought it would be a good idea to be able to write notes down in your User CP so like 'Remeber to apply for forum mod' etc So you can write notes to remind yourself of things to do. Because if you do it on a peice of paper, you could lose it but on your User Cp its all save. SO i think it'd be a good idea if you added this OR do you already have this???? Oo
Thanks.

I think a notes feature would be a great idea. The odd time i have to remember something for hxf, i just keep it in my head and sometimes forget.

It's a good idea, but then you'd need something to remind you, a bit like the PM notice when it says you've got a new PM.
Maybe it could be more of a "reminder" than a "note". So it says at the top: You have 1 reminder or w/e.

I think this would be a good idea, you could get a notification or something when you've gotta do something :D

just to add to my previous post. You could have say a time limit - so for example, if you want to enter a competition, you put
"Enter [competition name]" then have a time limit set so it pops up maybe 24 hours before?
And if it's applications obviously just set it for like every few days so they don't close before you remember x]

I completely agree with the above posts. This system should be brought in with a reminders type thing and this would be helpful for department managers on when to open applications and for normal users so they can on when job applications close.

OO I really like this idea, would be very useful especially for meeting deadlines, within deparments (such as writing comps, articles, hosting an event), to make sure you don't fall behind! I like the idea of having a small reminder, like the popup things in the same way that VMs and PMs work.

To be honest I just use my sticky notes and wordpad that works fine :P but if it's something you all really want then I don't see why we can't look into it. Let's see what everyone else has to say too :)

I think it's a good idea even though I doubt won't use it because i'll probably forget that it's there, but like Nicola, I use notepad on my laptop and I have a mini whiteboard in my room which is useful for important things that I need to remember. I like the idea of getting the PM, it's like setting an alarm, so the PM gets sent automatic at a set time.

I have a folder called 'to do' and write myself a pm! It works. :)
This'd actually come in so handy! I'm always forgetting to do things within Events! :/

No, its not needed. You shouldn't need to rely on a forum to remind you of things. Just leave a notepad file open or on your desktop

Didn't know vBulletin lacked such a feature. I know of a rival board software that has it by default :P It could be useful though, especially for staff, moderators and the like :)

If you need to remember to do things on the forum then it doesn't really make a difference if the forum reminds you or a notepad does :P

I think you get like 'Personal Notepad's' on free layouts, maybe make it voluntary to have it like the past account names?
as catzsy said, I've wrote myself a PM before if i have something to do, because you get the notification and stuff so i just check that. that works fine for me :D

I used to do this too but then I switched to my trusty friend sticky notes- it's far more noticeable but I feel that if people want it, Forum Management should look into it... I'd just not use it. :P :)

Sounds like a good idea to me, its whether is can be done that's the problem.

Whether it's really needed or not, I don't know. I think this is a good feature though and as said above, MyBB comes with this as default. However, this may require a plugin which I know has been the reason for not going ahead with things in the past.
As for getting an actual notice at a certain time, that's more of a to-do-list than a notepad. Once again though, I don't really know of it's really needed.

As a SMOD, this would make things a lot easier.
Right now I have to write things down in real life or open up notepad, but having a reminder system on the forum would make everything a lot quicker and easier!

Well for people like me who use more than one computer (I know for a fact a very large amount of people have use hxf on more than a single device), keeping a notepad file won't work for us. Also if we're using hxf outside of our room a whiteboard wont work either.
Inseriousity.

I don't see why it couldn't be brought in, it'd be very helpful but tbh I need excuses to forget stuff and giving us a reminders page means I won't have any :(

Don't I know it ;l ;)
I don't think I'd use it really, I'd much prefer writing a "To do" list in the Events Management section for us to tick off; that way both of us can see what's going on / what's been done :P

I think this is a fantastic idea.
I think the reminder would be a great thing.
Like maybe a few hours in advance they can remind you, that way if you do forget, they'll remind you.
It would be very useful. I know some people write it down in Notepad but sometimes people forget it's even there.
If there was something that popped up on your screen it would help, because then you know about it and can't make excuses like "Oh, I forgot I had to do this.." ya know? Anyway, I like this idea. I think it should be done.
