The other day my main computer with XP Pro stopped booting. It would load up and just before the login screen crash, a blue screen of death appearing but rebooting so I can neve read it.

I got my XP Pro disc out and did a few disc scans, rebooting and doing them again, finding stuff sometimes. Eventually I was able to get it working.

I locked my computer today while I went for a quick meeting at my University and when I came back it had completley frozen and now is not booting. I've tried the disc scan and can't get it to work. Can't get it to go into safe mode or anything by the looks of things.

I think the cause could be an old external. My PC was running out of space and so I put some files onto it (I believe it is corrupt - the external). I was able to back some stuff up with it but now it appears it may have caused big problems.

Anyone have any idea on how to fix it?

Thanks.

Manged to change the setting so I could read the error.

"The image IEFRAME.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computer checksum"

Now looking for fixes, hopefully will have it working soon

Doesnt sounds too good. Always best to reinstall in this situation, if that fails to fix the problem, possible memory/hard drive errors....
