Just been scammed 4 thrones in a Habbo > RS trade.
Meh, I suppose I always run the risk of getting scammed but the annoying thing was I traded the very same guy 3T yesterday so if he was going to scam me why not do it then?
But yeah, 4T down the drain, and it's all because I got greedy!
4 Thrones was enough for me to be content and have some fun, but now I have nothing, so a little reminder to those who are considering RS trades.
1, 99.9% of habbo are looking for an easy scam
2, don't get greedy.
I'll continue to play 'cos I've still got 6 Thrones or so on HowIAm so hopefully I'll get that unbanned, but if not I'll probably be quitting.

Don't pity me, just please learn from my mistake.

Sorry who are you?
Please don't comment on things you clearly have no knowledge on.
As I clearly said, I'd sold 3T to him before, and sold lots more to many other safe traders.
But it turns out this time, my greed got the better of me.

I hate it when people like this, who don't have a clue about the topic being discussed, make posts like these.

Thanks for the empathy guys,
there's no use in reporting him because it isn't against habbo rules, and if I were to report his RS account I'd risk getting my account banned too :/

Did you do this in a room? If so, stupid mistake anyway to be fair. No matter if you trade someone or not, I would never trade with anyone on habbo (forums on the other hand..) - even then I don't touch anyone unless they are well respected.

I did it in front of 20 or so people, which I suppose is the only good thing because at least there were wtnesses who removed him from the safe list etc.

oh noes not the safe list..

He will just make another account? Sadly, trading on habbo is a mugs game - unlucky on being scammed the thrones though mate, no matter if you risked it or not you didn't deserve that

Should of used a trusted middle man.

He was a trusted middleman on habbo ^
I'd used him many times before and seen him complete many trades.
Anyways, I ran into him later and he said he scammed me because it was his last 50M and was finished trading :/

PM me the name, quite interested in who this might be.

I'm afraid anyone willing to scam Habbo furniture must be a real saddo in real life, I learned along time a go that friends are worth way more than furniture. It's just a tempting thing to do if you play Runescape and you're going to make easy money, personally if I was going to trade Habbo > RS i'd only trade as high at 1t at a time.

The thing is, many people who scam are simply doing it for real life cash.

It is the same as scamming in real life cash - after all that guy could now go and sell those t's for a good £30-£50

Back in the day, I sold a lot of Habbo for ££££. Unfortunately one time I was offered £40 for like 25 majestics and accepted the deal. The person had fan rooms from a lot of people I trust so I trusted the person. Gave him the majestics. I never saw him again. Scammed majestics (they were worth a lot back in the day).

Ever since, I have only ever gone second, except with Mexel, with whom I have done like £250 worth of deals. He is safe!

You broke habbo's rules, so it's not the same as my situation.
Admittedly I broke runescape rules bla bla, but trading between two games as a way of increasing the fun I have within one of the games is different to selling stuff in a game for real life money, because the majority of people who do that will go to extreme lengths to obtain the furni in the first place, hacking, scamming etc.

It is still trading Habbo furni for something else ...
I did not hack or scam to get my furni. I played for several years, got bored and sold my furni. If I can make money out of it, then why not. I can argue that selling for money was a way of increasing fun for me, as it meant I invested it on several websites, making me thousands of pounds in a year. And the websites were something I enjoyed so it was a way of increasing fun.

No matter how you phrase it, there is no way to compare someone making a few thousand pounds a year off a game, to someone getting scammed whilst trading between games.

No I said I turned the money I got from Habbo into thousands of pounds by investing in other stuff.

In reality we were both idiotic as we tried trading Habbo for something else and got scammed. Simple as. You argue I broke Habbo rules, well you broke Runescape rules. You argue you did it to enjoy another game, I did it to enjoy websites. Simple as.

Alright, fair enough, this isn't really worth arguing over.
My friend lent me 2T yesterday and I turned it into 5 within a day so I'm not too annoyed at this anymore (:

Actually, trading on habbo for anything not on habbo is against habbos terms of conditions therefore what you're doing IS illegal.

Actually, before you try and get smart, it's not.
