Right, I'll sum it up
Got an;
Asus M4A89TD PRO/USB3 motherboard
AMD 955
Corsair 4GB XMS3 DDR3 RAM

Right. In January, I installed them together, turn system on and i got: No video, fans spinning and "MemOK!" LED lit. Pressed MemOK button, still nothing. Tried 1 module of ram, (tried both of them) in every slot. nothing. reset CMOS etc, took battery out. Nothing.

So i RMAed the CPU. Got it today, EXACT problem.
No Video.
Fans spinning max speed constantly.
MemOK! lit up permenantly.

I've tried with and without the heatsink etc.
Tried with 4 & 8 pin CPU cable.

There's no HDD's plugged in, tried with and without PCI-E graphics card. Still nothing.
The PSU works on other builds so it's not that.

Haven't a clue what to do anymore.
Anyone help?

Might be time for a mobo RMA :P

Tried another GPU and tried onboard GPU. Still nothing. LOVE how Asus can't even be arsed to keep their support lines open on a weekend ¬_¬

Hold down the MemOK! button until it flashes, then the MoBo should go through a test routine till it finds a config that will work with the RAM if you haven't done already.

Done that a million times :/
The MemOK lights up even with no ram..

And my ram is on the QVL.

Dodgy RAM or board.

It can't be the RAM, since I don't even get a POST with no RAM installed.. think I'll try RMAing the board then. Piss take, -.-

You can never POST without RAM.

Try and borrow some RAM to test it before jumpling to conclusions about the board though. It could still be incompatible RAM, I'd ignore the QVL.

Don't know anyone with DDR3 unfortunately, but I've googled the problem, and people are using this RAM with the mobo successfully

Just because other people have done, doesn't mean you will.

How come? If it's the exact same RAM, I would think it would work on the same motherboard.. :S Apart from mine possibly being defective however.

Sounds like a mobo problem to me.
