View Full Version : I just want people to know me.

I didn't know where else to put this, so if it's in the wrong spot I am truly sorry.
Okay, so as some of you may know my name is Kelly. I've been on this site for 3 months now and I was here other times too on different account names. I really like this site a lot, I enjoy the people. But I feel like nobody knows of me or even cares that I'm here. I was wondering what could I possibly do to get people to know who I am? I go to the events, I post on the forums, I was a dj and an events host, and I'm a nice person. I would love to get more known around the site and whatnot. What can I?

Well I certainly know who you are and you haven't been here that long. It takes times to develop a relationship especially an 'e' one so I would just be a bit more patient and it will come. :D

People can be very selective, they tend to stick to their own groups.
While many or maybe few people know me, I try and manage to stick to being involved a lot.
If people don't want to notice you then ignore them, they're being silly!
If you ever want to chat/get to know me know, drop a pm. I'm always up for a chat.
Hop it goes well for you :)
Just don't stress!

I'm going to be honest here, by posting this it isn't helping you in anyway. You have to earn your cred here by posting loads and getting involved with people (try spam more) - by posting this thread makes you look a bit silly (I mean this in a nice way :)) so just try more, leave a few people visitor messages and see where you get. PM me sometime?

You need to get involved more. Post around a lot more.
Become a habbox god and you're sorted

Relax! Take it slow and you will gradually find friends. Habbox and online communities are very funny places, if you want to be noticed more just talk to people, post around, make convo with people at the events. Trust me this will all happen in good time!

I only joined late last year and people know me - why? Because I post a lot, I always put across my views in debates & current affairs, and I have stuck around.
Posting this won't help at all. You just have to post regularly (my avg post/day is about 20) and post in spam - then people will see you a lot more. Also getting a job as you did - tends to help. But not many forumers tune into habboxlive.
Basically, post around a lot more and more regularly.

This isn't hate, however posting this thread probably won't help you. If you just keep posting more, people will gradually either like you, or dislike you. Nit picking here, but when you first joined I just assumed Pabble (Special on here) had got banned, and you were his new account.
I don't think your thread after being fired as DJ in spam did you any favours - not just because of the thread, but if you post a rant in spam the chances are, whoever you are, you will get ripped to shreds.
Just be yourself, post naturally too. Don't try and post for respect, as quite often it will look quite silly :)

Hiya! :) I found it really hard to get known and I think I did it the wrong way tbh cos people only really know me because I'm so young. Just be yourself and people will get to know you, also I've started to chat to people on their walls and then I added them on MSN and then the other week I went on cam with Minion :)

Well I'm not really an expert in this area seeing as despite being here for 3 years+ I hardly know anyone on this forum, admittedly though I've little interest in doing so (No offence!) so that's probably why.
Simply by being around you won't make friends you've got to make the effort and talk to people on a one-to-one basis. Try be a bit more charismatic and interesting at events, be one of the louder people and start talking to the regulars. Strike up conversations with people by posting on their walls or PMing them, eventually when you get closer to them you'll get their IM etc. Then join in in the Spam forum discussions, HxF Skype, MSN and TinyVid Convos and be around HxHD lots.
Maybe strike up a few really close bonds with 2 or 3 members and just spread out from there until you find that you've actually spoken to loads of people on the forum.
Maybe just pop a visitor message on someones profile and go from there :) x

Just vm some people you might want to get to know. Creating this thread won't help you get more well known i'm afraid (At least not in a good way). I don't mean to sound rude when i say this, but people on forums hate whiners. The fact that you've made a few threads about this topic already isn't a good way to get popular.

If you do something totally out of it like post nudes or buy everyone pizza then it'll get you known and (depending on your body/what pizza you buy) possibly liked, but if you want people to know you for your personality just keep posting and get talking to decent people through VMs or PMs. Spam is a good place for general conversation but be prepared to not have people reply to every post you make because we quite often completely skip over entire conversations just to focus on one point or even just to talk about the desperation of many of the spam denizens

If you're a hot girl or a gay guy you'll get on well in the Spam section.

lol no. you don't need to post 20 a day to be liked. nor do you need to have a job. infact, that'll most likely do the opposite for you.
also I've started to chat to people on their walls and then I added them on MSN and then the other week I went on cam with Minion :)
yeah i don't suggest you do that neither

who are you and who is gina lol....
why do you want to be known? people either like you or they don't. as it's already been said, just post more. talk to people. it's not rocket science. make threads in the general section to create discussion. plus i've only seen you post like twice before this and once was for you to say no-one cares about you and that habbox was ****? you're always gonna have this reputation of you being an attention seeker so w/e it's too late
basically what jen said.
habbox is just like irl in the fact that if you walked up to someone irl and said HI PLEASE TAKE NOTICE OF ME, they're gonna think yr a bit of a douche.
in all honesty, you probably won't ever be the most popular person on the forum, because these things take years and foundations have already been built here. but it's something you deal with.

Just takes time, i took a good year after i joined before people started to know me around the fourm. But then i left a year ago and now iv started coming back here not many people know me anymore.
Also it depends on which subfourm your post in most. Your get to know alot of people in that subfourm but if you look in a complete different subfourm you probs wouldn't even recognize one name. Like, i used to use the online games and spam cats alot a long time ago and when i look at the threads now i don't have an idea who most the people are.

I've been here for years and I don't maintain a proper relationship with anyone on the site.
I've been around longer than 99.9% of people most likely, yet I can guarantee you there's barely anyone who can say who I am.
I only joined late last year and people know me - why? Because I post a lot, I always put across my views in debates & current affairs, and I have stuck around.
Yeah everyone seems to know Robbie now.
Just stick around, continue posting. Maybe write on a few people's profiles and get to know a few people here, the longer you stay the more legendary you're likely to become :P But don't worry I wouldn't say I know many people on here even after 4+ years.

To be honest, I don't think that 'forum popularity' is of the utmost importance - I've made my friends through habbo and the departments I'm in (woo go comps), and that's OK, the like 'popular posters' on here seem like an almost exclusive group (lol) - try talking to other people, like on habbo.
I know you - seen you around a lot, especially more recently in events and stuff and I look forward to seeing you around more :)

I really hope you're not being serious. If I'm being totally honest, yes Robbie is known - but for the wrong reasons.
Oh what Jen said, I do agree as posting this isn't helping you at all, but dragging you down more.

lets be honest, it ain't "cred" is it. it's a habbo forum.

Well creds a bad word, but you have to earn somewhat of a name if you want people to know you. Doesnt matter that its a habbo forum (and thats not just because a lot of the people dont even play it anymore), its just the same with any community.
