View Full Version : iPhone Vs. Blackberry

I don't know which one to get.

Basically, it's my birthday soon and hopefully I'm getting a new phone. But if I don't I'll get one with my birthday money and I don't know which is better.

Blackberry I know has BBM and a lot of my friends have that, but then it doesn't have the apps.

However iPhone has all the iTunes and stuff which I really want because my iPod broke so uhm...dunno which to choose lol

help? :)

every person i know who has a blackberry complains about it constantly freezing and it's lack of features.
iPhone if you've lots and lots of money
Android if you don't, and get either a Desire or a Galaxy S.

imo.

I'd go for this, you get great music handling, thousands of apps, easy contact with your friends (BBM) and an efficient qwerty keyboard plus you save hundreds of pounds.

Not always true - a few of my friends have iPhones and they are not exactly in my position when it comes to money, yet I have an Android phone!

That must have taken years to type.

The thing is, iPhone's are not exactly 'posh' any more - they are just like any other phone - thousands of people get them now!

Is this a serious question?

Blackberry - most useless redundant piece of plastic and metal in the existence of the world. Has hardly any apps and horrible web browser.

iPhone - has thousands and thousands of free apps, multitouch high resolution screen and amazing browser.

A better question would have been, in what ways is a Blackberry better than an iPhone - because you'd be hard pressed to find any answers.

i have a blackberry, i've had it a while now, and i hate it!
i've had it since june 10, nd my friend has an iphone which she got for christmas.
her phone is much better, and you shouldn't think of blackberry messenger, you should just get an iphone and download pingchat! because iphones, androids, and blackberrys can send files, messages, pictures etc to eachother for free. but you need to get insurance, cos they are both expensive and easily damaged.

i'd go for a bb+ipod touch. bbm is like the most useful thing for me, most of my friends have them as well so i barely text anymore. and i don't really like iphones because me and touch screens don't have a very good relationship

This. Blackberry users are like, "I R B3TTA WIV MA BBM MESSANGAR." Well no. You can do that on the iPhone and Android phones as well and it's very free, and it even works from iPhone TO Android and Android TO iPhone.

At least I could read the multi coloured writing ><

Robbie, just bare in mind what people have said in this thread, but it really does depend what you would use the phone for. If you want music too, don't get a blackberry (obviously you could ALSO pay for an iPod Touch). If you want good quality, music, apps etc don't get one!

You can continue this list on forever though. If you want an actual screen resolution don't get one, if you want a multitouch screen don't get one, if you want fluid updates don't get one, if you want a good browser don't get one, if you want actual operating system don't get one, if you don't want to be constantly reminded that RIM takes UI designing tips from Windows 95, don't get one.

Seriously, dont get a blackberry. Comparing a blackberry to an iPhone is like comparing a Seat to a Lamborghini.

Blackberry's are rubbish and thats in no way biased, all my friends have Blackberries and they are constantly complaining about how slow & crap they are, not only that, but its constantly breaking. The only decent thing about it, is BBM, which isnt that great in all fairness and you have to pay for it seperately too.

Whereas the iPhone as everything a BB has, but x100 better quality, more apps & x100 faster. Seriously, my birthdays coming up in March and my mum wanted to get me a BB and I said no, for the reasons I listed above but because everyone has them now, its nothing new anymore, its just phone which is over-rated. I asked her to get me an iPhone, but I am not sure if she is :D

This. Please for the love of god don't get a Blackberry you WILL regret it. I have one on contract and I'm upgrading to an iPhone early this week because I'm sick of it, facebook app is awful, bluetooth never works right, no worthwhile apps, freezes A LOT, mines flimsy, not worth the boredom. :)

Theyre not the best but theyre not as bad as you say they are, many young people who want to talk to their friends easily can through BBM. It is hands down absolutley amazing and really really easy to use. The internet viwing isnt as good as other phones but it's very fast and easily accessable

But if I could go back I would have got an iphone. As BlackBerrys, apart from the BBM are realllyyy overrated

I have owned a Blackberry for years now, before that I had a series of Motorola phones, which I loved. I need phones that are durable and touch screen phones are not durable. Most people I talk to are tired of their iPhones and are locked into a 3 year contract and they want to make the switch to Blackberry but they can't because ****** Canadian phone companies lock them into 3 year contracts!!!!!!!

Touch screen phones do a fine job for me, and I have dropped my Milestone on concrete. Numerous times.

Just make sure you don't get the **** quality ones.

Our phone companies suck. I buy my phones outright because their contracts are so stupidly long for Bell.

Blackberrys are smartphones.

A smartphone is a mobile phone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_phone) that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary feature phone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feature_phone).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smartphone#cite_note-0) Smartphones and feature phones may be thought of as handheld computers integrated with a mobile telephone, but while most feature phones are able to run applications based on platforms such as Java ME (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_ME),[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smartphone#cite_note-1) a smartphone usually allows the user to install and run more advanced applications.

Not in my mind, because they are one heck of a poor excuse for a smartphone compared to iOS and Android.

I have an iphone and love it.
M friend had an iphone but changed it for a blackberry... Worst thing she ever did in her mind.
The blackberry was always freezing whenever she was just texting to trying to access her contacts. Terrible. She soon went back to the iphone.

What's the point in gettin a balckberry (rubbish anyway) and an ipod touch, this means you will have to carry two different things around with you.
just go for the iphone, everything you could ever want in just one handset imo.

Apparently for reasons beyond me some people prefer to get the worse phone and then lug around both an ipod and a crappy already redundant handset.

I think the answer is obvious - iPhone.
Blackberry is pretty much useless, it has rubbish internet browsers - and I think only people buy them to use 'bbm'? Pretty much pointless - as I'd say they're only good for if your a business worker, and have e-mails going all over the place.

The iPhone is tons much better, lots of free apps and quite good connection to the internet, though the down point is that its very expensive and therefore why most people go for blackberrys.

NOT SAYING THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE QUALITY OF THE PHONE BUT

my friend has an iphone and last week he dropped it, the screen flat on the floor and it was absolutely demolished, cracks literally everywhere it looked like a spiderweb or something. and now hes annoyed because he used it as an ipod as well so now he doesn't have a phone or an ipod until it gets repaired
