Come on, let's go and see an incredibly biased and staged 'documentary' about a half-talented 16-year-old who believes that women get raped for a reason, and who will spiral into a drug-addled existence in a few years

Well hes done well in getting a super massive fanbase, apart from that however..

You've got to give him some credit. Outside of the studio that overproduces every horribly written song of his, he has a half-decent voice when stripped, but no way has the goods to be where he is. He got to the top with his babyface and hair, like Zac Efron.

Yeah but one thing to remember. Jedward. They have no talent what so ever, can't sing, can't dance, but they still managed to get somewhere.... Now there doing Eurovision for Ireland...
& As for his baby face & hair, I just think he looks like a girl lol

Poor, poor boy. I've said this before and I'll say this again, stop blaming the Beeb. He's a kid, bit of an idiot but generally just a nice kid who's grown up in a largely Christian dominated homestead (hence the extremist Christian views). He's been plastered across music and now he's making the rounds in film. He's, at his core, been murdered and his entrails have been spilled across the world for tweens to go pay and see.

It's a shame really the film will be so successful. He's been picked up by millionaire executives who use him as a scapegoat for what you could say is child abuse.

A very good mockumentary in my opinion.

Inseriousity.

I'm not gonna see it but I did see a trailer while watching another film and I think the message of the film is a nice positive one at least. Chase your dream and never say never. Can't argue with that :D

Not a film that I'd go to see, even though I don't mind some of his music. But yeah, I wouldn't hurry to see it as I do think people make too much of a fuss over him.

At the end of the day, he's trying to make a living and his story is really inspiring. If you don't want to see it then don't? He's still sucessful so yeah whatever, at least he has a living made already and a big fan base.

Inspiring for your world to be turned inside-out by music executives who will literally send men to your concerts to keep you awake for 24 hours with water so you can get to the next one?

Yeah.

What a life to want to have.

I am genuinely disappointed that the creator of this thread is from Hull. I mean, I know Hull is bad, but come on...
I threw the remote at my TV when the trailer appeared, I think I'll be skipping this one.

Most people - other teenagers - hate on him out of a bizarre kind of envy. It's pretty obvious. Me on the other hand - not being a teenager - I don't have that problem and instead gave constructive reasons why he should be pitied instead. He may be the most famous person on the planet right now, outrageously rich and on TV worldwide every single day, but the inevitable comedown in the next couple of years when his stardom fades and the next big thing hits will not be pretty. He's going to go the Corey Haim and Corey Feldman route, only I hope not with a Haim ending.

I guess you haven't seen any films of actual quality? Goodfellas? shawshank redempetion? easy rider? the film industrys getting killed.

Sorry, what? He's made his quite clear he has no intention of going to see it because he has common sense. He's entitled to his opinion as you are with yours, so don't tell people they can't reply, especially when their opinion is just as valid as yours.

Just because he's successful doesn't make the film any better.

Did he just get famous from youtube videos, i mean I don't like his music so obviously don't know much about him, but it seems like he just got lucky.

Sadly the reality is most of us have to work our socks of, and don't just get an overnight deal like that

his babylike good lucks got him his popularity on youtube, then Usher (who is just as bad of a singer) decided to manage him. there are way more talented people out there (and on youtube).

usher isn't his manager, scooter braun is.

And to be honest, you can't comment on the quality of the movie, unless you see it.
It was a really good movie.

They weren't posting about the movie, but posting about the star of it.

If you don't like something, no point of seeing a movie about it.

There's no need to become all defensive! It's just their opinion.. :P

Its not a movie I'd run to the cinema to see (or then again not a film I'd do anything to see), but as long as you enjoyed it then thats all that matters.

What about the saying, everyone is entitled to an opinion. What you have stated is the massive problem that the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) has.

While I for one hate trolling, I also hate people who seem to think posts and boards for specific films are there just for fans. Every film is going to have its haters, if everyone was the same it just would be boring.

Opinions are exactly that, opinions. They probably won't match yours, but it doesn't mean they are more or less right.

I haven't said your opnions are wrong, it just kinda annoys me when people judge someone they don't particulaly know.
And you can't really have an opinion on how bad the film is, without seeing it, just like any movie :)

You like/love him, you dont kow him., yet you've judged him (and therefore liked him). So yes, yes you can. People form judgements on people that they see on TV and around all the time, even though they don't PROPERLY know them.

However the movie bit yeah sure, that's true, but considering we dont like the person its completely based on, i very much doubt we're going to enjoy it

It just shows you clips of him playing drums and stuff at like 2 y/o and how he could play the guitar and stuff at like 6 and keyboard, then it goes to Usher finding him and listening to him sing then it shows him getting more and more famoues in concert..

I haven't seen it, I'm just basing it from trailers!

Who the hell do you think I am? I'm someone who's sick and tired of this ******* 12 year old look-alike saturating the market with his ****** music and making life ****** for real music fans. And treating him like a god? That's a cult sister, and that's ******* wrong. That's why I said what I said. And I stand by it.

Also, I don't think, I KNOW I'm someone far better than you or any bieber fan for that matter.

it's something similar to beatle mania, or even elvis - not entirley on that scale yet, but getting there.
If you really dislike justin bieber, I think you shouldn't have even looked at this thread.

Judas
25-02-2011, 01:24 PM

I'm not a Beatles fan really, well I know some stuff but don't think Justin will ever be as big as them. But then they are too different. The problem is the Beatles didn't have all the stuff that Justin had - Someone from America couldn't just download their songs

Judas
25-02-2011, 04:23 PM
i'm not a big fan either but their legacy is undeniable. i think comparing justin's current success to theirs during beatle mania is silly. he is huge, but when you look at his chart performance it's not actually *that* impressive

Jessicrawrr
25-02-2011, 08:39 PM
I agree harry, but it could possibley reach that as he hopefully/probably gets bigger.
