Minecraft Server

Hey,

Myself and Twisty225 from CHF have setup a Minecraft server for members of the habbo community to play on, so please do read on:

The site has been put together quickly so it's pretty basic at the moment. But we'll be slowly adding graphs & more information! Oh and we don't really care about browser compatibility - so if your an IE'r, change browser.

We've also setup a teamspeak server - so you can talk whilst your play (how cool eh?)

The website url is www.supatech.co.uk - this has the connection details, along with the whitelist of people who can play!

At present the server slots aren't limited - however if it gets popular then we might have to.

Some of you may have some questions, so here's some answers to help

What is Minecraft?
Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. It's pretty amazing tbh!

I wanna play!!
Well if you have MC premium & aren't a tool - then your welcome. Apply to the whitelist on the site and we'll accept. If your going to greif then we'll deny. Simple!

Do I have to have Minecraft Premium
Yes you do, you can't play with the free version I'm afraid.

How do I play
Have a look around the site - there's some more information on there.

Got any maps we can see? You might be interested in installing dynmap (which is a Bukkit plugin, you can see the old HXF server's here: http://gamebit.me:8123 for example).

What are the server settings, mods and rules?

Basically, no grief, no lag causing buildings (e.g: huge water/lava towers), no setting fire to forrests (we have software which gives us a good idea as to who did it & we also take very regular backups), no ******** lol. Just be a good player/don't abuse and there won't be any problems (:

Apparently the server the Minecraft server is on ceases to exist. Can't resolve it to an IP anyway.

Right, I'll sort some of this stuff out.

The server is up, it was down earlier because I was moving us over to Bukkit after the MC 1.3 upgrade which messed up the old wrapper.

The world was put on a free for all last night as the wrapper was messed up so we reverted to the normal vanilla build and used that. pvp was on, and there was no rules.

I've now reverted back to the backup as Bukkit is now up and working.

The whitelist is as per the link - http://supatech.co.uk/list.php

If you aren't on that list you aren't whitelisted. If you've already applied you'll have to apply again as I don't want to troll through emails.

I'll post more about plugins and other stuff later once I've selected them.

How are they even getting TNT, creepers aren't on so no sulphur?

No, myself and twisty were landscaping, and while I was on holiday my chest got raided (before I could set a password.) I've lost all my TNT, most of my red stone, coal etc...

The logs showed Verrou with TNT so it was twisty's assumption that he was the one who did it.


edit: also since we posted here the server's been griefed like mad.

... Explain why you asked for a minecart, then 3 minutes later (it takes 2 to get to snow base) shout TNT?Clearly you had some involvement in it. The TNT was taken from Pat's chest as he had a few left after extending the castle.

:/ I arrived at the snow base which was half destroyed and wandered around, stood on a pressure plate that set off some TNT. Also, I didn't ask for the minecart as I was getting in to it...your reasoning with timing is way off. The coal and redstone is mine...I had a mine going down to a huge cave system near the bedrock where I legitimately mined it all. As the for the TNT and water, I got from someone in my house the other day when you were flooding my igloo after lighting it on fire...you must have thrown it? But I do admit I did take the smoothstone, only because it had been sitting there for ages unused. For that I apologize and will happily smelt some cobble for you. But the other accusations are complete and utter rubbish.

Well, considoring I've never had tnt on me since the first day when the castle area was built. I find it hard to believe that I threw both 4 TNT and 50 water... Oh and that water was in my chest waiting until Patrick came back.

I don't want the smoothstone back, it's just something called rules and manners. Rules say no taking from others chests. It doesn't matter if it's sat there for a week. ASK people if you can take things.

Anyway, like Patrick said he wanted to unban you for some insane reason. So your unbanned. Do ANYTHING again and we won't be seeing you back.

Server is running fine now. Very little block lag (if any). Minutely backups are running again.

What version are you using at the minute? The classic free version? if you are then Yes its defiantly worth it. If your using the beta then its just the same but with online.

For the few people on here who still play with us and keep asking who, what, where etc. please refer to this thread (http://www.clubhabboforum.net/showthread.php?p=3702183#post3702183) as to what's happening. I'm not going to posting it here there and everywhere.

As for the current whitelist, we had a prune. The current list is at www.supatech.co.uk/list.php, if your not on that list you can apply again at www.supatech.co.uk/apply.php. By doing this we've weeded out the greifers. The old whitelist had 63 players on and was unmanageable when it came to greifing.
