Nope because for me everyone has a different POV.

Colleagues' reviews for the latest theatrical releases. Ifi t's hitting DVD/BR that week, chances are I've had to review it.

For films, yes. I tend to take a look at a review and its rating before purchasing/renting a movie however it doesn't always affect my decision.

I used to read film reviews and while I still do read them, I don't base my choices around their reviews cos they generally have to be a bit more picky than me who just wants to escape real life for 2 hours or so :D

Ill look at the stars rating, but never read the entire review. I feel they make it too analytical and would then make me think about those things whilst im watching the movie and it could potentially spoil a movie i would otherwise enjoy

What are you meaning when you say 'If it is hitting DVD/BR...'

Do you mean ALL films? :S

Monday is the main release day every week for films and TV shows on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK, and each week I've usually been sent 90 percent of them to review ahead of time.

This is a good thread to tell you all to read Screenjabber.

I often, use friends for opinions on films / tv shows to see if its any good, as there a bit more fair sided, as they don't earn a living from reviewing them.

I don't trust my friends, I read online on the sites I know will openly honest. Destructoid, Flixist, Screenjabber, Platform Nation for games and film reviews.

I sometimes read Ebert and listen to Kermode but I don't always agree with them 100% of the time. I guess 'honest' means the one who hasn't been paid to review it lightly or it perhaps means whoever agrees with you. Ebert and Siske's olde reviews are always good material for when I'm watching something older but for Kermode, I find myself agreeing with him on a lot of films nowadays.

Games journalism is in dire condition at the moment so there's little people you can trust. You can trust me and the Jabber crew on that one though.

Was referring to the releases that actually get PR companies behind them and hence work with us.

I use Amazon or IMDB reviews but not professional critics.
