Haha, that is pretty crazy. I'd suggest reinstalling Java or removing and downloading the client again if you're using it.

Also try adjusting the graphics settings in game if you can somehow navigate through all that blackscreen!

yeah if it keeps happening try changing from directx (if it's on that) to opengl or something

The graphics settings are probably too high for your computer. Change to software mode in the options tab and then report it as a bug on the homepage (Help > Submit a Bug Report).
