I'm sure that if you jailbreak the iPad then you can use a camera connection kit as a USB port.

I'm sure the iPad will get USB ports eventually anyway.

&I was reading earlier why the retina display on the iPad was unlikely and it said something about how it would quickly drain battery life, having to power 5 million pixels+, or something like that. They wouldn't add an SD slot because it would ruin the point in them having different capacity models :P.

I bought an iPad not long ago. Kind of annoyed. Not really bothered about the new one, there's nothing new that I want/need (the cameras are nice but I have an iPhone 4 so don't need them).
However, I am annoyed that they dropped the price by £100. Apple are refunding anyone who purchased an iPad 14 days before the announcement £100 if they take the receipt into an Apple store... But I bought mine through T mobile so I'm not sure if I can do it :/

It probably will be. Better to be safe than sorry. I know where I live there was only a few stores that ended up having iPhone 4 devices, they were only allowed 7 each on release day.
