Heeeeeeeeeeeyaaaaaaa (where's your head at?)

My friend and I (good grammar, aye?) bought Minecraft recently and were wondering how to set up a like private multiplayer survival server so that we could only let us two play on it.

I mean just setting up a server in the first place would help (haha) but if anyone knows anything about it then please reply.

Thanks!

As there's just the two of you the best option would be for one of you to run the server on your computer. To do this you would need to use Hamachi. If you google Hamachi Minecraft Server you'll find a tutorial to get you up and running. The down sides to this would be that the server wouldn't be 24/7, it would only be online when the person hosting it has there computer connected to the internet with the server running. you may also suffer from lag but as its just the two of you I'm sure it will be fine.

If this isn't what your looking for the next realistic option would be multiplay.co.uk

You can have it going 24/7, if you run it on a seperate "media" PC like my friend does :P It's only good if your broadband provider has a decent monthly contract where they won't shoot you for using up too much bandwidth (or whatever is).

This is a decent idea though, and if you want to play at the same time as your friend then the 24/7 issue is no longer a problem.
