DOES POP PUNK STINK?

With that said, this is a poll to determine what people think of pop punk. I personally think they are mostly listened to by stupid 11 year old who think theyre 'punkz!1' cause they listen to something with a stupid guitar that their not even playing doing dumb chords.
The bands i'm talking about are: Busted, McFly, Good Charlotte, Avril Lavigne (specifically foccusing on 'sk8ter boi') & Simple Plan.

busted and Mcfly are in a completly different league to Good Charlotte and Simple Plan. GC and Simple Plan play their own instruments and have songs of meaning.
Sure they might be a *BIT* cheesy, but everyone needs a bit of happy music!!

Errr....no. All four are exactly the same :rolleyes:.

The only real decent (and VERY decent they are <3) pop-punk band is Sugarcult IMO <3. Tim (the lead singer) Doesn't have the typical "wannabe ****e emo" voice and not ALL of their songs are about girls :rolleyes:.

First of all "Pop-Punk" isn't a real genre, it is something made up to either soften bands like Green Day (who arent pop-punk, maybe punk rock) just because they have been in the charts or "Sold Out", and to make bands like McFly and Busted to seem more "rock".

Good Charlotte are in no way punk or pop, and with their newest album i would say its more an emo attitude, Simple plan i havent heard much but again, not pop.

Pop is stuff that is in the top 40 with every single, not just one out of 7 albums.

Secondly this poll is stupid, you are a lamewad for just making it, just because you buy all this pop-punk stuff, FYI the following bands are "pop-punk"

Not all of it does, but most newer sh*t does. Blink 182, Sum 41, Fall Out Boy, and Motion City Soundtrack are the only ones I really like. And :.Jenny.: your not quite smart when it comes to music. Just read page 2. And Jenny, you say that GC and SP are happy, look at the one dude from Simple Plan he has enough make up and stuff to put on like 5 girls. He looks like he has been burried in the ground for a few years, dug up, and brought back to life. Sum 41 is pop punk, with the exception of Chuck that is.

Pop punk is just a type of music...no one says you have to like it, and no one has the right to say if it stinks or not.
I like some pop-punk, actually I like a lot of pop-punk heck i'm even in a pop-punk band - but it seems that when you guys think of pop-punk, you think of commercial or manufactured rock which is VERY different (and if good charlotte aren't manufactured, then my name is captain hook and I live in neverland)
I really dislike mcfly, busted(who, BTW, seem the same to me), good charlotte, simply because i just don't like their songs...if they actually wrote a song that i liked...then i'd like them.
So to sum up my very long and boring post...You don't have to like bands like busted/mcfly/good charlotte etc etc etc, no one is forcing you to, but you don't have any right telling others they can't like them...or making them feel inferior for having different taste.
Did this make sense? I have this whole big thing where I type a lot, and then no one ever understands me...it's a flaw.
Oh and Kerrang! I remember when that used to be a good magazine :\ those were the days.
