I'm sure last month we were told that it was going to return, but it hasn't?

Just wondering if it is, because I really liked it and think it was a good idea :)

Top poster has now been removed as posting is part of the MOTM criteria anyway. The posting is about the quality of the posts, not the quantity. The script has also messed up now anyway so we wouldn't be able to do it at the moment even if we wanted to :P

I agree, I'd rather 1 tasty yoghurt rather than 7 that are past their expiry date :P

"top poster" comps just lead to really really pointless posting and the same old person clogging up my new post feed with old threads and nothing of any worth.

Don't forget 'What are you listening to?'

I love that analogy Richie :P I don't really know why it got set up in the first place personally, a requirement of member of the month has always been to "post around the forum a lot" so it always seemed a bit silly to me :P

You didn't seem so bothered about those 'Post Your' threads, which frankly no one has given a good excuse for.

I agree with this really. Although maybe not "post around the forum a lot" as such because I'd rather see 20 good posts just in that month rather than 500 spamming crap. kk maybe a bit more than 20 but yeah, you know! :D Glad it's been removed.

This has been argued about time and time again and you have come up with this point more than once. They are historic stickied threads which would would have been allowed in the past and it would be a shame to remove them. Not all rules are retrospective.

Not going to bother arguing about removing them, as clearly these are never going to be stopped.

However, the history argument is the lamest argument in the world. You don't see businesses not moving "because they have been in the same building for 100 years". You don't see nus still having the death penalty. Historic things do not have to sgtay forever.

On the other hand, I have 10k odd posts, it doesn't bother me if nusers wish to post in these threads, and it doesn't affect me :)

I'm going to close this thread prematurely to avoid the argument that's inevitably coming, the issue has been resolved and people seem to agree - I'm not willing to see yet another boring argument about threads which aren't going to change.
