On the events widget, maybe when an event is on (Green Box), you click it and it takes you to the room?

It's a nice idea but it would be quite difficult because people use different rooms for each event rather than just changing the same one around; and in that case, we'd have to go around and ask for links to people's rooms.. etc. So yeah, nice idea but rather impractical, sadly :(

Agreed. There's no way of telling what room they'll use and you can't assume either. :(
It's probably quite easy to do, I know when I'm doing an event I post the room in my announcement in community noticeboard. Maybe when you request an event you could add the room link too and that can then be transfered into the panel?
Inseriousity.

That's a really cool idea. Would be a nightmare for events management though... but not impossible :P

I think the only way to do it would be request EOs to submit the room they are going to use when they book the event - so it can then be added to the panel. I'm sure David could code it so only the live event's link worked.
That sounds a bit more practical.

Yeah that seems more of an idea, however I think it might be good to have the next hour's link as well. I say this because people want to come early, the only problems are if it is locked/passworded or if they haven't finished the room yet.

We try to encourage EOs to book well in advance, so surely it would be rather annoying for them to plan which room they're going to use weeks before it's actually due? :P It sounds nice, but I feel it could get rather messy for little benefits.

lolol it sounds like I'm changing my mind all throughout this but no I don't agree with this, if they can find a room which suits it, it's simple to take the URL from a room which works.

I prepared my events well in advance.

It's surely a doddle for David to make it an optionable and later editable field that once the room is complete / the event organiser wants people turning up they can put the link to the room in there and it'll be live for people to click on.
