View Full Version : i can't sleep, help? (+rep!)
like seriously. all these little tips and tricks don't work no more and i dunno what to do.
i don't really wanna go to the doctors and bother them over it cause like if they give me pills, i have to pay for it!!!!!!!! (gr8 stuff being grown up).
but yeh, i can't sleep at all. i get about 2/3 hours a day and i'm just never tired. i don't feel ill for it, just a bit up + down mood-wise, but i know it can't be healthy.
if i was at home i'd do the whole warm bath routine thing, but here at uni i only have a shoddy shower and to be honest, you can't really relax here ahah! (that ain't necessarily a bad thing, just means that i can't settle down at night easy.)
any tips?! +rep :)

Hey Beth,
How longs this been happening for?, ou might just be going through a 'PHAZE'.
Do you go out drinking alot?, are you worried or stressed?
The doctors are useless!

Buy a bottle of piriton (not the non-drowsy tablet poopy ones)
and then drink a mouthful of it and you'll be knocked out a few hours later
otherthan that I dunno. I have sleep problems where I can't sleep til gone 4am and any sooner I'll just lay awake til 4am+
Do you have lots on your mind when you sleep? Like avoiding sleep to avoid thinking about 100s of things on your mind and stuff or is it just you can't sleep

you can buy tablets such as sleepeaze that are cheap, reputable and will enable you to feel drowsy.
I use it when I can't get to sleep.
also try listening to soothing songs while you're going to bed, easy-listening ones you know.

Have a cup of tea before you go to bed. It helps me. :)

lie on your front, like on your elbows with your arms up reading a book in dim light. always works for me! :)

I think you need to try and be more active so it will tire you out. If that doesn't work them sleeping pilz :/

er i've not really been able to sleep easily ever, but it's never been this bad. it's been like this for the last 2/3 weeks. i don't drink ALL the time, i'm student so i do drink quite a bit but not as much for it to effect me. er not worried really, i had a show (i'm an actor) last week which was stressful, and it really tired me out but i still couldn't sleep.

there's not alot on my mind at all, ): i just don't seem to be able to sleep. and the piriton idea is a good one, cheeers. i tried to look for drowsy medicine the other day in boots and i just couldn't see any.

see i would agree, but i'm always busy. i'm an actor and these last two weeks i've had shows. so i've had like 14 hour days. and i have my seminars/lectures/performances for uni on top of that. it's not like i'm sitting in bed all day!
cheers everyone so far! x

theres your problem right there - you cant relax :P
in the past when ive had trouble sleeping its always been because ive had something on my mind worrying me, or ive been excited about a night out or something.
i either eventually fall asleep after hours and hours and just lying in bed thinking, or i play music when im lying down trying to sleep and my body relaxes and i manage to turn off the music and put my iphone away before i fall asleep
Do you have some sort of OCD? I took the 'bathroom thing' as checking to see if everything was ok?
As for the sleeping I'm not much of a sleeper either. I just tend to stay up until about 3-4am, then lie in bed and watch a DVD. Then go to bed (say after a 20 minute long south park episode) That usually does the trick for me. I can't recommend any pills because I've never used them myself so I wouldn't know.
Hope you find a good solution.
