Recently I have heard a couple of djs have been using a number generator to pick a winner for a competition.
Wouldn't it be a lot easier if there was a name/number generator on the DJ panel - There may already be one but I don't think there is.

It's a great idea, maybe they could add one to the panel and script it so when a presenter uses it, it automatically sends the numbers to somewhere on the site. Only allow management to reset the numbers, that way people will know it isn't a hoax.

We will be getting a new panel in the future so not sure if its worth adding features like this now but it is a really good idea and something I would like to be implemented :)

I agree. Or even in the 'goodies' section or something.

It does always come in handy, whether it's comps or seeing what a lucky number is ;)

Inseriousity.

I always use www.random.org (http://www.random.org), dont see why one has to be specially made tbh other than pure laziness :P Although at least they are using a random number generator and not just picking one at 'random'!

I think a special one would be good as we can check it's definitely being used ;)

I remember this being used somewhere.

Not on Habbox though.

I'd feel much safer if it was a bit more random than a computer can handle:
Random.org API: http://www.random.org/clients/http/

Good idea! Maybe this could also be added to habbox.com under 'Goodies'?

My point exactly. It will benefit habbox and it will ensure competition winners are been drawn fairly.

I agree with this.
The panel (When I was around) is quite basic. I would maybe say make a few things that could help DJs with various things that they would need to visit an external site for.

The panel currently was originally constructed in around '06 if I remember, then there were a few minor tweaks in '08, so the design is about 5 years behind and the features basic.

To be fair though a panel is a panel. Presenters use it for the features, once it works, its perfect. It doesn't need to have a new "pretty" design every so often. It isn't like the main website, that needs to look attractive to attract new users, if a presenter is looking at the panel they're already a dj so trying to catch their attention is just pointless. If anything, all it needs is the features needed, added on. It just seems a little pointless to create a whole new panel when there is nothing wrong with the current one. I know I'd much david / jin to concentrate on fixing forum skins, making new ones, making sure the site hasn't got any errors and add new goodies and so on so forth.

A panel would take a considerably amount of time to code compared to your average habbo fansite. Hence why most fansites use free panels, even some of the ones competing with habbox use free ones with the features tweaked to their needs. Grig you and whatever dj's want a new panel should be happy with what you have and not what you want.

I like that API someone posted to a randomized number, because then it's presumably hardware generated therefore genuinely random as opposed to a PHP software generated number which is not truly random.

As Jess has said she would like it, and as it would be a quickie to implement I see no reason why we can't have it now, I'll add it to the current panel.
