A question about "paid vip"

I know that a while ago when habbo was still .co.uk, you were told you couldn't sell vip.

I remember though that not too long ago there was a thread in feedback and in it we were told that since staff and times have changed since the merge it may be possible for habbox to sell vip again. I'm pretty sure somebody in management said they would send an email to habbo about this.

Just wondering what, if anything, has happened with this?

Matt Garner it was if I remember correctly got a reply saying it is still not allowed to sell it.

You'll be waiting months for a reply, everyone knows sulakes policy is "all emails are replied to with 9 months" lol

Not that long ago we contacted Habbo to see whether this rule still applies or not, the answer is yes it does. Since the rule still applies, we cannot sell Habbox VIP. They did mentioned they would be reviewing the fansite rules in the upcoming months to see if anything needs changing.

Firstly thanks for the reply. Just out of interest though, have they given reasons for not allowing you to sell vip?

It's a bit odd that they let you sell donator but not vip, since vip is kinda just a donator+ with more features.

They did give us reasons why we couldn't do it and it was due to official fansites in some countries that used the status to sell unofficial Habbo merchandise, good and services (Premium/VIP) which Sulake themselves could not vouch for. I believe this encountered problems for them and they banned it throughout all fansites to sell anything like this, although upon agreement back when they did decide to ban it we was able to sell donator as it is today and that is about it.

The only way the rule will change is when they do the review and they believe the rules need changing.

changing them would mean you'd be getting more money out of people and they wouldn't be getting anything. They'd totally hate that

Even if it did change would it be sold anyway? Donator already includes enough features as it is and ever since it was banned from being sold, vip has become very useful for competition prizes.

I agree. Plus changing from donator to vip would be annoying wouldn't it? The change from vip to donator was easy because donator didn't exist back then but changing back to vip would just **** everything up imo. I like how you can only buy vip at xmas or win it in comps etc. Makes it more rare and stuff

Yeah we would probably stick to just selling donator the way it is now and also give and use VIP out as it is now if the rule did change.

I don't really see it as a problem. If you really want VIP you can stock up on it at Christmas or just keep entering competitions.

Donator is practically VIP minus the extra exclusive features and is enough in my eyes.

If VIP could be sold again, VIP could still be given out in comps etc as free VIP is better than paid VIP so that wouldnt really be a problem but yeah I agree with whoever said it wouldn't be changed!
