Personally I feel no video should be removed unless the video is reported and someone is genuinely balling there eyes out irl. It was never as strict in the past. For example I posted "you just got owned - video" several times in the past, it never got removed and it was allowed once in a spoiler. No it isn't even allowed in a spoiler. I'm not sure why things had to change, it was fine before.
IF YOU DO NOT LIKE SWEARING DON'T CLICK A LINK WHICH SPECIFICALLY SAYS THE VIDEO IS GOING TO SWEAR.. IS IT REALLY THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND?

No, Habbox has a lot of younger members and these members shouldn't even have to see such videos. This rule is much more lenient than it used to be however it needs to be enforced in the interests of the younger members on this forum - if their parents caught them watching some of the videos that get removed by mods then they could easily make them stop using HxF or complain to us.
The rule is there for a very good reason and it won't be changing.

I don't mean to be funny but they really don't? it's not like people are forcing them to click it. It's a shame that every time an argument comes up it's always the same excuse. I have never seen younger members complain?
---------- Post added 29-03-2011 at 06:12 PM ----------
If age and swearing is such a huge problem, why don't you add an age filter. If a member advises younger members not to click a video, they can't see the video.
"But people will lie about their age" that just proves they don't care if they hear swearing or not. Children can easily go to youtube and type in a song with swearing, their parents might hear it. It isn't habbox's problem, its youtubes and the parents for lack of monitoring.

I wasn't aware you had eyes & ears over HabboxForum 24/7 for the past 7 years Richie. Many complaints have been made about inappropriate videos, from older members, younger members and in some circumstances - parents. These rules have been in place for a long time and with good reason and they will not be changing.

If parents are contacting you about a video containing swearing you should link them to youtube management. Get their parents to filter youtube on their computer.
As for older members making complaints, without sounding childish, they need to grow a pair. If a video has a spoiler don't watch the video jeez it's common sense.
If I had a child and they used this forum i'd be much more concerned about them viewing threads "what size is your penis" (not sure if it's still around but it wasn't removed).

The "what size is your penis" thread should have never been allowed and the Forum Manager at the time was severely punished for allowing it. We don't allow swearing at HabboxForum therefore we don't allow excessive swearing in videos. No matter how much you rant and cry Richie, it's not going to change.

cant you just get over the fact you are not allowed to swear. Unless we wont to become unofficial, keep the swearing out of it.

I think the answer is Richie is that we allow 'mildly inappropriate content' and videos with hardcore swearing from beginning to end does not count as that. Members should read the rules really and if they don't know what it means ask for advice before posting. You would not find any content like this on mainstream television or radio so why should it be allowed here? The forum is pretty lenient to allow the milder swearing in a spoiler with a warning. The 'you got owned' video is old and has always been removed. It has never been more lenient than this. The moderator obviously did not see it when you posted? Links? You can't be penalised for a video posted way back.

Don't get why these swearing etc threads keep coming up even after every thread has received a IT'S NOT CHANGING reply. Just gives management more of a reason to say no if you're gonna moan 24/7 about it. I wouldn't mind being able to post any videos etc and I disagree with alot of the rules but when people have been told 100 times that the rules aren't gonna change then you're sort of meant to just give up and realise that the decision is final
If youtube allow it, I don't see why Habbox dont.

I don't know how people CANT see. It's like bamdoodle right in the face like a bullet to the head.
If youtube allow it, I don't see why Habbox dont.
Because with the amount of uploads on youtube on a daily basis they are very behind on moderation. I am pretty certain they don't allow young users to make homemade videos of themselves spanking the monkey but that is what I happened to find the other day "/

Agree.
It has been made more lenient in recent years and 'mildly inappropriate content' and 'mild swearing' can be posted as long as it is in a spoiler with a warning. I really think that is sufficent.

Not that it matters too much to me but just saying,
To that comment, since habbox is a habbo fansite why would they become unnofficial since habbo actualy allows swearing?

To be fair, most mild swearing and mildly inappropriate content is unfiltered and allowed nowadays anyway :P (bar a few situations where paranoia seems to be the only reason). Not sure where to stand on this, the spolier and warnings are there for a reason and should do the job seeing as it takes away liability from Habbox and dumps it on the individual members, so that members gets the blame if mummy and daddy read or hear the language coming from the "spoilered" content. However, some videos do go a bit over the top with some profanities and seem to lack a point.

I found it a bit weird too, where you just said you agreed that Hecktix has been on the forum for 5 years and has experience... It was a weird thing to agree on :P
It's like me saying:
"My family love cakes. My love of cakes plus my family's love of cakes totals over 80 years of cake loving."
And you replying:
"I agree."
I got what you meant, but when you read it quickly it does come out weird :P

I'm pretty sure these "Younger Members" that you speak of are now classified as "Young Adults" unless you're referring to the people in the habbo section and inferring that it must be a global allowance on pre-warned swearing, you can always be slightly less lenient on the Habbo forums where you're more likely to have these more sensitive members. A whole load of people complained about those MJ jokes (Undoubtedly more than people complain about swearing), but apparently as soon as there was a warning it was fine, why not this?

That is as lenient as the rule is going to get and it's a lot more lenient than it used to be. We could tell you not to post swearing videos at all but I don't see how asking you to only post mild swearing with a simple warning is that unreasonable? I understand that there are older members on here who are fine with that stuff but you need to respect the fact that we have a lot of younger members too.

To clarify, is it still alright to post videos with a few swear words? For example, someone is doing a tutorial of a game and something jumps out and they scream the F word. I assume this is alright as it isn't taking away from the main point of the video which is a tutorial, and a warning to indicate it contains swear words should be enough. It's how I remember the rules about videos used to go. Big words like this were fine provided you gave a warning, and these words were only mentioned a few times (rather than most of the time :P)

Why do Management keep thinking that because it's "Better than it used to be" is a reason not to complain. That's like saying as long as hitler stopped killing the jews it's ok for him to imprison and torture them.
I understand that management have a position on this and they aren't going to back down now, but really saying you've improved a little bit isn't an excuse not to improve more.

Anything further would not be an improvement, it would be detrimental to this forum no matter what you think. You may be part of the older group on this forum but there are also a large number of 11-13 year olds.

Exactly that Gomme - that was the whole basis of the new rule. A few times okay but not virtually continual hardcore swearing and no C word. It must be contained in a spoiler too.
@ Chippiewill. That is the daftest example I think I have ever seen - not over the top much?
I do not think having hardcore swearing or anything but mild sexual content in a spoiler with a warning is an improvement. This is a teen fansite. I am sure you have access to other sites if you want.

Yes Gomme, providing your post states the video swears then it's okay, the rules practiced use the word "excessive" and whilst what's excessive is at the moderators discretion a lot of the time I've found this to be quite fair and most moderators agree on what's excessive etc.

And I'm sure you do spend your entire time planning stuff that no one cares about. What bothers me is that we bring a suggestion of what we want (And I know we're not necessarily representative) it is immediately shot down with 'Well we've improved it already or 'It's better than it was' or 'You couldn't used to be able to ask those things' or 'We're a more lenient management'. Stop comparing yourselves to what you used to be and start comparing yourselves to how you could be, because only then will you actually start making any real improvements.

The fact HabboxForum is more lenient than it used to be is a good thing to add in an explanation as to why we won't be changing things. It's not the explanation, we've all given explanations as to why we won't change things. We've made a lot of improvements and will continue to do so and to continue improving we have to be able to say no to feedback that won't improve Habbox. You, on the other hand just like to troll feedback making digs at management, which aren't exactly productive either.

Then it becomes part of the explanation or it serves no purpose.
It's not the explanation, we've all given explanations as to why we won't change things.
You do then feel the need to justify yourself with said statement which does seem to suggest that you do not believe it to be an acceptable/on par reason either.
You, on the other hand just like to troll feedback making digs at management, which aren't exactly productive either.
You on the other hand like to insult forum members and violate the rules in doing so regardless of the irony/hypocrisy involved, of course I'm not meant to point out rule violatons but then again it's not a rule violation if it doesn't count for management. So on that topic "Please add http://amzn.to/egWalD to your gene pool. It evidently has become stagnant." since apparently that's the sort of thing that habbox (http://twitter.com/habboxdev) promotes as an acceptable thing to say to a forum member or generally another human being. And I guess you're taking the moral high-ground by taking digs at me then?
