Asda has admitted drivers paid just 12.9p a litre for petrol after staff put a decimal point in the wrong place.
About 50 motorists stocked up on unleaded fuel at the petrol station in Rooley Lane, Bradford, West Yorkshire, on Thursday.
Drivers queued up to use the automatic card-payment pumps for about two hours until the mistake was spotted.
Some motorists also filled up petrol cans with the bargain fuel after word spread around the city.
An Asda spokesman said: "For a couple of hours some lucky customers got some petrol at the wrong price at our Rooley Lane store."
Totally lucky! Fuel prices in Manchester just keep on shooting up, but this is quite funny actually LOL. Anyone from Bradford heard of this, or maybe even managed to get some fuel for 12.9p per litre? :P

No I was talking about the petrol fail.
We all know perfectly well that supermarkets make hundreds of million (many make billions).

lol, only in Bradford! :P
Our car costs 70 going on £80 to fill up these days, such a rip off!.... and to think that the Americans moan about paying under half what we do :P
Funnily enough, we're going to Bradford tomorrow to the Alambra theatre :)

Why did none of the staff catch on to what was happening? Surely they would of seen more cars going their drive-thru pay stations AND using the pay@pump systems?

I'm fairly certain that they wouldn't care / so dumb they didn't notice.

The only two I know of have kiosks plus two or three pay@pumps, but I'd imagine many of them are pay@pump only, they're just more convenient :P
I wouldn't blame them for not changing the pricing, they would of been doing the right thing seeing as petrol is an incredibly important resource in this day and age.

Never managed to cash in on this myself, i'm on the other end of town, I was seething when I was paying for my petrol at Morrisons this morning and headline of local newspaper was about the cheap fuel!
It only went on from about 22.30-00.30 before they noticed! The queue for the petrol pumps backed right up onto the main road and led to the local police coming out to investigate.
I feel for the person who put the decimal point in the wrong place, best thing for the thousands of unemployed people in the city is to go to the job centre as i'm sure there'll be a vacancy for asda will be up pretty soon! :p
