in the graphics section, specifically in the habbo alterations part..
I just see people posting stuff like 'Great work!' 'I love it so much it's so amazing!'
But they're not offering anything constructive which could help the maker of it, improve, which most of the time they could but they won't because people aren't posting constructively.
I know there's a rule about posting constructively, but that's only about bad posts, so shouldn't there be a rule for constructive posting including posting nice things about the thing posted?
It annoys me how non-constructive peoples posts are, then when somebody posts constructive critisism about it the maker like has a go at you for pointing out bad things out.

Well if they like it it is constructive - the word constructive usually applies to when somebody is being critical not positive. Not everyone is a 'pixel' artist and so if they like it they say so as subjective as it seems. There is a point, however, that if you feel that it is somebody just posting this to get their post count up i.e. they say the same thing every time you can report the post and it will be investigated. If the person doesn't like constructive criticism then maybe they shouldn't post the graphic. That is of course if the person has posted how they think it could be improved. That's my view on it anyway. :)

I agree that there are quite a few people that go around the forum just posting these "pointless posts". It's not just in the graphics section, i see them all over the forum.
Theres one or two people in particular i constantly see never posting anything contributory. They always leave simple pointless posts like "i like this" or "its good lol".
Although i'd love to name them, i'd get in trouble for targetting other members. So i'll leave it at that.

I agree with this and I could have sworn it was against the rules, positive or negative. Even if you don't know how to make it better, I think if you're posting there you should post with what you like and why, for example "WOW, lovely! Those eyes look nice due to this, that and the other" obviously with the last three subjective words filled in.

Well I believe it was and you do have a point here.

This comes up every now and then and I'm a strong believer on not clamping down on this too hard, because quite simply if you do you will just reduce the amount of replies that a thread gets in graphics, if any - as we're being too strict. As Catzsy said not everyone who replies to graphics are graphics designers and they are quite entitled to say that they like the graphic, in my eyes "I like this, it looks good" is constructive as they are sharing their opinion about the graphic - it's not entirely pointless because it's got a valid point, to let the OP know that they like their graphic.
Again, as Catzsy said the word "Constructive" comes into it when it's a negative post, constructive criticism. The reason for this isn't really about preventing pointless posts but it's about preventing negativity, stopping people from wandering into a graphics thread posting "this is crap" and leaving it. Again, the posts have a point, it's showing the posters opinion about the graphic however "this is crap" is in no way constructive as it offers no way to improve, whereas a positive post even if it says "I like this" in my eyes is constructive because it's positive feedback and a lot of the time it's hard for a non-graphicsy person to state why they like it. I like the graphic in Catzsy's signature but hell I couldn't tell you why, I just like it.
However, should someone be constantly posting "I like this" in multiple threads - clearly with the intention of spamming then naturally they would be picked up by a moderator, however from my moderation experience it would only do harm to enforce a rule that made people post fully constructive positive and negative posts - I know a previous Forum Manager tried to clamp down on this and the graphics section quite simply just stopped getting posts until I vitoed their decision and let people have more freedom about what they are posting in graphics.
Don't get me wrong, in an ideal world we would make people post fully constructive posts for positive and negative feedback, however we aren't a specialised graphics forum, most of our members aren't graphics experts and we shouldn't be preventing them from posting in response to graphics.

I am ot sure if they still do, but a certain forum member used to post in EVERY single thread in the 'Cool Rooms' section and say things like 'great room' 'cool room' 'i love your room'.
But remember, if you -rep someone for posting pointlessly, and they revenge rep it is allowed - as long as they make it sound like they didn't just log in and return the rep.
EDIT: Sorry that last bit was more of a disguised rant to be honest :P Aftr a revenge rep was deemed as fair but anyway.
I don't think it should be clamped down on, if it is just the occasional thread, however i people DO post in every thread with similar four word posts, I believe they should be clamped down on.
