for the first time in 5 years, i had a GENUINE question and i thought it's 7pm it'll be busy. i get there, there is no-one there and my genuine question goes unanswered.

just thinking its primetime gmt and there's no-one in there? bit lapse on the staff's behalf? i know they're voluntary, but surely this time of an evening is a key gmt time?

Sorry, I take full responsibility for not logging into habbo. I understand with me present the rooms normally full, without me hxhd may die.

Sorry I have just been for a bath and I have the banzai tournament now so I can't be in there.
We do try to be in there as much as possible. Its just we do have things to do as well.

I find that it depends what kind of events are going on at the same time, if there's a large event going on a lot of people tend to be at these, if there isn't a large event then HxHD will be busy. It's quite active for the majority of the week so I don't see it as a problem at the moment, bethie.

Don't quote me on it, but I think they got rid of report notes (staff having to submit a screenie of their presence every 30 mins) so that it's all more relaxed. While I thought it was a relatively good idea at first, I do think it's proving to be quite detrimental in terms of staff activity and I'd suggest it's reimplementation. It really should be busy.

Although Bethie, as you know... Habbox Events are obviously very popular so everyone was probably there ;)

I do agree with this. I've noticed a bit of laziness from the staff whether its afking or just not being there and I think you need to cut down on that.

oli, i'm not saying it's a major thing but there were people going in asking for help and no-one was there, when david was manager i always remember one person behind the bar even during events (:

There's usually at least one person behind the bar, Roxy's usually in there for the whole of prime time but I guess it's not something you can achieve night after night.

I think people follow events around more, because when I sometimes come in there, it is indeed pretty dead and mostly everyone, including HxHD staff are at the events rooms. Sometimes it's more packed, but I seem to have been the unlucky one stumbling upon the first case more regularly. Mathew may actually have a point with the log things and hopefully that's not the case, seeing as my time on client has decreased as I've been busy real life- so can't comment as much as before.

Are help desks even popular and of use anymore? You rarely hear of them. When I quit Habbo, it was my understanding the Help system Habbo created was more reliable and useful than what Help Desks could pump out.

I hope this argument isn't pulled out again :P

They are not as popular and that is not disputed however there still are users, such as the OP, who go in to ask questions!

Remember too that the Easter holidays begin next week and many of our older staff members this week may have many deadlines to meet in terms of their education and preparation for the exam season! I'm sure it will pick up during the holidays and into the exam season just fine! :)

Should have superstaff to whip the staff into shape.. loljkz.

I haven't seen any other complaints about it being empty in the past few weeks so maybe it is just an off day? + There might be meetings/events you don't know about happening :P

this really.
in regards to lot of the replies: my problem was, as such, at 7pm i would imagine alot of the younger habbo community would be online, and i would expect they would be the ones needing more help. as an older member of habbox/habbo i kinda just got on with it and knew something was probably up. but a new member would just disregard habbox.
that was merely my point!

I actually agree 100% with this.
Not to bring up an old argument but they actually have nothing to push themselves for. Like a senior role.

Ha. Why do we always see the same excuses time and time again?

Last week, I stayed up and I logged onto Habbo at like 6pm (your time) and it was empty. I log on at 6pm (my time) and I actually see people in there (Only one or two people and only on some days.). This is an incredibly poor effort as most staff are from the UK or surrounding areas. Of course, I don't object to this at all but when you see this happening, you know there is a problem.

Removal of RNs? So that means someone can be staff and come in for like one hour? I hate how strict it was but at least we actually had to do something. Does this mean no one is recognised for dedicating more of their time than others?

So really, there is no incentive to go in there.

I also think it's time to capitalize on the extra space, rather than being lazy and keeping a battle ball tournament in there forever- this space should be utilize for a bigger array of unique events :p.

But indeed popularity has died down as of late.

Richie

I say add up all the staffs RNs every month and whoever has the most amount of time in the desk wins vip.

Problem solved, everyone wants vip. Yes, you shouldn't have to bribe staff, but I'd consider it more of a, lets say, competitive award.

When i was staff in HxHD people had to vote who got staff of the month which to me wasn't done by work was done by popularity

I'm sorry to the manager who thought of that idea, but that was pretty dumb. Doing it this way will always be a popularity award.

Staff honestly don't have the same motivation that they used to.
I hate to reminisce, but the SS role was an old part of HxHD which has now been taken away. There was a time when the staff were older members, with both Habbo and technical knowledge, enjoying their job and dedicating hours to the position. Sadly that isn't the case now, but perhaps it's a change in Help Desks as opposed to anything management can do about it. I daresay we are trying to fight a losing battle.

Yeah, I agree with you... for once :P
The removal of Super Staff means it's just one basic position. While I do think it had good intentions (giving everyone rights to speed up rule breakers.. etc) I think it's detrimental to the motivation of staff to try and achieve something.

Well that's the point Richie, RNs aren't used anymore so there is no way of knowing exactly how active (or perhaps inactive :P) someone is.

mmm yeah I don't agree with that really. It should be the manager's objective opinion.

I don't blame staff for not going in there.

It was boring when there was something to work towards and now there's nothing to work towards. Not even a staff of the month or a top of the leaderboard (not just promotions.)

In the morning time for me there will always be people in there. Once I get home from
School there is like a 4 hour space untill anyone really comes on, i get the people who come in and need help which I know Is apart of my job that's why I sit there waiting for People to come and get there questions answered. Around tea time for me the ussuals come on and more staff..... So it's not to bad.

Sort about the spaces , my ipod

I have been on before school just to see if anyone was actually there and there isn't.

Also, to add, after that "4 hour" period he's talking of, even when that has passed, the amount of people coming in is minimal.

In my opinion IF report notes have been taken away then they should be brought back. In my time of being HxHD staff I found the activity of the help desk quite high with alot of staff behind the desk but in recent times the staff has declined (imo since HotelUser left as HxHD Manager)

I think anytime "after school" in whatever tomezone there should be staff in hxhd: this is prime time for new younger users who ate the ones looking for help, pretty much the future users of habbox.

omg this must be why there are less people asking for help anymore, the cannibals!! :P
As for the 'no super staff' thing, there is no promotion prospects in the competitions department either (apart from assistant manager/manager - and those don't come round often enough) but they still strive to be the best they can. I like that once all those striving for promotion leave, you're left with the people that actually want to be there. There are other ways to motivate staff, you don't need ranks to do so!

We're currently in talks about the possibility of bringing some form of staff monitoring system back. On the whole activity of late has been rather quiet yes, however it's something that hasn't gone un-noticed. The battle banzai stuff has gone for now, and Roxy has some plans for that side of the room. I think more events within the room will help, and a variety of things going on to attract new users in. This, along with motivating staff more, and ensuring they are doing their job should help to improve things.

Roxy

I have noticed that there has been a lack of staff at certain times so staff activity is something I'm trying to tackle, however equally it has also been more popular than usual during other times. At the moment I don't think it's a major problem and the majority of the staff are definitely active, it's just really working on making sure staff are in at a range of times so there's constantly at least 1 member of staff behind the desk. I've also been working on several event ideas which will be held at a range of times to help HxHD gain more popularity again and these will be running throughout the Easter holidays (no we're not just running quizzes again :P) then hopefully a lot of them continuing on afterwards.

As for report notes, I do support having them back and recently I've been speaking to general management about them a lotttt so hopefully either that or a similar system will be returning soon!

The bb arena was removed tonight and events area will be coming veeeery soon ;).

Since the room was moved over to Martin i've seen it getting more popular. I think this is due to Martin being in the room often and making Room Events which is bringing new users into the room.

Although i think maybe we should bring back the battle ball or something similar to grab people's attention when they enter the room.

Although this new event stage looks good if it gets used often!

Tbh nobody could be nicer than MattG and I swear he used to actually live in there :P but Martin of course is pretty nice too and I am sure it will be beneficial to have the Community AGM owning the Help Desk - it makes a lot of common sense as it can be used for events. :)

Just a note on the events side of things, I suggested about 9 months ago a Habbox Safety Night, it got thumbs up but nothing was done. Obviously it's a Help Desk so it's going to be a real focus on the safety side of things, maybe scamming included. I remember John made a huge guide before to help out others but then it got removed for whatever reason which is a real shame.

That's why, I once again bring up the idea of the Habbox Safety Schmooze! Maybe sometime on a Sunday, perhaps like 1pm so then you've got 11pm AEST, 1pm BST, 8am EST so it's quite fair for most people and doesn't get in the way of Prize Collection if people need to go there. Of course a safety quiz is a must to see how much people know anyway and maybe the second section could be half planned and half improvised, the staff check out what answers were wrong from some people and then explain why to give them a better understanding. I think it'd be really useful to get something like this up so it does promote the safety aspects of being on Habbo.

Another idea, which may have been suggested already but tbh it's a while since I've read this thread is bringing back a production. I don't mean something fancy like the Cinderella but I mean more talkshow styles like the productions department did, which could happen on maybe a weekly or a fortnightly basis. I know Charlie has an idea of trying to do this with the news department but maybe drifting away from Habbox here would be good, to have a chat about other things happening in the world. Maybe per (every other) month you could have one of the things like Cinderella, HabboxEnders ofc or Habbox & Away etc. etc. These would be more exciting shows which have a new stage rather than a talkshow sort of style but is a lot of fun.

I was speaking to Roxy on MSN about this a few minutes ago and it's how HxHD and Events are competing with their damn events. I'll be honest and I don't like the idea of Name That Singer being done by a HxHD staff, especially if for whatever reason there is another event going on. Either have EOs doing it in the room or HxHD staff doing events in the room once a day. Now Martin owns the lottery and the HxHD, maybe he could do the draw in there from now on?

Hmm I had a couple of other ideas but I fell asleep earlier 'cos that's what most people do. :(
