Hey,

I am looking to overclock my Intel Core2Quad Q8300 (currently @ 2.50GHz)

neoseeker says to do:
set Vcore to 1.45V
set Vfsb to 1.45V
set FSB strap to 400MHz FSB
run the DDR3 memory at 1380-8-8-8-24

However, I have never overclocked before, so do not know where to do this? Is that all stuff in the BIOS - which isn't overly difficult to do?

It can be done using windows based apps, but it's best done using the BIOS. When you're on the BIOS, go to advance settings, then change the relevant settings, it's easy to do but you've got to be careful as it may cause stability issues.

What CPU cooler are you using?

Also, 1.45v is a little high for a 45nm chip. I wouldn't go past 1.4v.

Although mine only has one fan - maybe an older model?
