Upcoming new Sam Broadcaster Skins

Well it seems Spacial Audio, the company behind the hugely popular SAM Broadcaster, that is used by many online radio stations, might be finally building up to the release of it's much talked about version 5 (It's been talked about for years)

I wonder if this will simply be an upgrade e.g. 4. something. Usually a design change like this means a new version and with SHOUTcast 2.0 in Beta (not sure when it gets a full release) maybe the timing is right.

Who knows. It will be nice to be able to use custom skins. A lot of people have said the design should be the last thing and features should come first and while I partly agree, technology is changing - look at websites now and compare them to a few years ago. I think SAM could do with a little makeover.

I seen a bit of the skin on BroadcastingWorld and they look very nice, getting bored of the old one now haha.

I'm not too fussed about the skins, once it does what I want it to do, I'm happy with it. I can't wait for sam 5, the additional features!!

I partly agree. Features are more important to me but I think in today's age design is also as important. I mean websites have changed from the early days and so has software. As in websites used to be basic, and no real design, now they can be really simple but also effective and beautiful design wise. I think software should follow the same idea.

There where rumours SAM 5 was going to be a complete re-design, which while it might have been handy, would probably cause problems for previous users. If this is SAM 5 (Hasn't been confirmed yet) then I just hope they have a lot of new features/a nice design.
