Clegg seemed to rather avoid the question, although perhaps her question regarding siding with the Tories over Labour deserved a stupid answer :P
Ah well, interesting nontheless.

To be fair to him, he could hardly say he didn't agree with the changes lol

Very interesting, he didn't like her at all - I wonder what he'll have said afterwards :P

She asked a fair question, she made a fair point that the Liberals have changed from one stance to another to stick with the Conservatives and he completely ignored her being happy about it, Clegg is clearly under pressure from the Lib Dems, things like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13047269. He couldnt, as the woman said "look her in the eye and tell me you are happy with what you're doing". He really is a pathetic man who is just walking around in David Cameron's shadow nodding his head everytime DC wants him to. I admire David Cameron in the way he conducts his politics, he believes in his purpose and he believes in what he's doing and if you asked David Cameron if he was happy with what he was doing he would quite clearly state "Yes".

Ah but Dom, Lib Dems have been fighting against the coalition plans, if he didn't agree he could do the right thing and walk out of the coalition and save himself and the party. The only reason he's agreeing is because he likes being in power, I really don't know what clouded judgement the man has but public opinion of the tories is rapidly decreasing but in my eyes the Lib Dems look worse as they are just nodding their heads and doing what the tories say. The tories are sticking to their values, the Lib Dems aren't.

What have the un-Liberal un-Democratic Liberal Democrats really changed stance on? let's have a look shall we..

- The handover of powers to the EU is still going on at an alarming rate, something the Liberals are quite content with.
- Government expenditure is still increasing and is due to increase upto 2015, again, no problems from the Liberals who campaigned for more spending.
- More money we do not have is being thrown at global warming climate change, which the Liberals harped on about.
- The House of Lords which was already ruined is now being abolished, something the Liberals have eagerly awaited for for many years.
- Taxation is still rising whilst the state expands at an unaffordable rate, something the Liberals have campaigned on for years.
+many more, from the welfare state to the armed forces.

Now with the issue of the students fees, hmm perhaps yes - but as we've found out they never planned to follow this through anyway as it was rather apparent they would not form a government and thus could promise the earth in return for votes. So why do we keep saying the Liberals have sold out? The only people who have been sold out (again, its happened before) are conservative-minded people who continue to vote for a party which is no longer conservative in the slighest yet pretends to be conservative before election time.

The question you should ask yourselves is this; could Ed Miliband look you in the eye and tell you he is not happy with the present government based on policy? being a politician I suppose he could tell you he was not, but compare the policies of the three parties and you will find them as one.

He treated her like a ******, she asked why you went with conservatives and she understand what happened where no one got a majority.

The Lib Dems aren't a party in my eyes, they're just a party of leeches that attach themselves to whoever has the most votes to survive. They have no policies, they have no beliefs, they're just leeches.

In all fairness his party didn't have a lot of choice. It would have been manic with a Labour-LibDem-GreenParty-SNP-Independents and whatever else they'd have needed to make a government. Tories would have had a landslide victory in 2015. At the moment it's still between Labour and Conservatives.

A total set-up. The Clegg probably invited her. Lol what lengths will they go to next! Looks like it backfired though as Clegg looked really irritated at the end.

Another article regarding Gillian :P

She reminded me of a news reporter, with her tone and assertion.

I agree that it wouldn't be surprise if Nick Clegg invited her as its a coincidence how all the cameras on her from the start. The Lib Dems don't really have their own stance on things and just take the best policies from Labour and the Conservatives, then combine them to form their Manifesto! :P

Things were looking up for the Lib Dems before as well. Now it seems Clegg is hated more then Cameron or any other politician is for that matter.

A total set-up. The Clegg probably invited her. Lol what lengths will they go to next! Looks like it backfired though as Clegg looked really irritated at the end. She's actually good friends with the Labour MP and was accompanied by three Labour activists for a cheap publicity stunt, nothing to do with the Lib Dems but you're right, it was a set-up by everyone's favourite political party!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/apr/14/gillian-duffy-labour-mascot

Frankly she's nothing more than a Class A Bigot and what she has to say doesn't really matter as she's asking ridiculous questions and not listening to the answers. She has no political meaning other than this being another cheap political stunt. I suppose some thinks she's your average woman representing working class Britain but I fail to see it that way :P

The only thing Gordon Brown got right was calling her a Bigot...
Duffy: You can't say anything about the immigrants because you're saying that you're … but all these eastern European what are coming in, where are they flocking from?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/apr/28/gordon-brown-gillian-duffy-transcript

The whole thing was silly with Gordon Brown and frankly it's no better with Nick Clegg, she was a puppet for a Labour party publicity stunt, they weren't even her questions most probably and she didn't even listen to what Clegg said anyway.

It's ironic that originally Labour were in the negative light for this (due to old Brown's remark) yet now they seem to be a happy-clappy party with a little old lady as their mascot.

Perhaps it's just old women on television that annoy me. I don't like Susan Boyle. These women aren't anything special, they were just in the right place at the right time and are craving all the media attention they can get before their fateful day. Bless them.

The Coalition is definitely making things worse. The government needs to take things gradually to sort the country out. It is no good going slam, bang, cut this, cut that. It just doesn’t work. It is heart-breaking.
Well actually Gillian, it does work and the fact you can't see this is because you're eyes are so misted with the oh-so-perfect world of the Labour party who seem to spend as much as they possibly can and expect the Conservatives to clean it up later. Heating allowance being cut? Pensions being cut?.. There's a large sum of debt which needs to disappear and that isn't going to happen under Labour's rule. Bigot.

Labour basically set her up to try and get some bad press on Cleggy

Brown only got in trouble because he was caught being honest. She is quite bigoted and ignorant. Brown's only crime was saying what other people would have thought. If anything, she's just one of the extreme individuals who helps make a debate worth while, it would be too boring having a room full of people who half-agree on things :P
