Just totally redid the inside of my PC since I got a new motherboard and cpu cooler.
Sorry the picture is a bit dark

Also the new cpu cooler seems to be hotter than my last one for some reason :S I applied 2 thirds of the paste that came with it. At first it was idling at around 40 degs, now down to 35 idle. Do I just need to let the thermal compound wear in?
Pretty reasonable.
How much paste did you apply? Too much is bad.

did an even thin layer. also wiped the cpu clean of the old stuff from the last cooler. I guess these temps are manageable at the moment, but if they start going up or it restricts how far I can overclock i'll try a different brand of compound. (This stuff is just a tube that came with it)

Neat! how much did it burn a hole in your pocket for the lot?

I'm estimating it's around £1400 at the moment. About to send back the old motherboard for a refund.

That's really tidy. :) What is the white cable towards the bottom connected to?

that one would be the card reader mounted in the front, and the one next to it the usb ports built into the case.

What're the specs for the whole build? Looks good.

It takes 2-3 days for the paste to work fully.

Impressive Stuto!
May I ask if the four USB ports at the front have two different cables for (one for two USB ports and one for the other two)?
Just, only two of mine at the front work (the first two to the left) so I am wondering if I missed a cable somewhere?

I guessed so. Re-applied the compound anyway because I was definitely a little generous with the amount the first time around.

;).... it's been doing some weird stuff tho! I mean what kind of motherboard leaves the usb ports powered while off when you have energy saving options that even allow you to turn off the LED on the motherboard! Probably cos I left the "Soft Off" turned on in the bios.
That "Face Wizard" that came with it doesn't even work :/

You probably did miss a cable if this is the case. My case only has 2 usbs built in at the front anyhow. They should already be wired up to the case right? Just a matter of finding the cable and connecting it to the mobo.

Oh, I apologise :)
Your case looked just like mine, so I assumed it was the same :P
Thanks
