View Full Version : [Help] USB Mouse +REP
Right well, I have a USB mouse I use for my laptop...
Occasionally it freezes.. Which is rather annoying, it freezes because of CPU i believe, because it's USB
However when my mouse freezes, I can switch to use my touchpad mouse, and it works fine..
Just wondering if there is a way I can edit the settings and whatnot so that my USB mouse is on the same attribute as my touchpad so that it doesn't freeze, because it really annoys me when I'm trying to click somewhere, and it decides to throw a paddy at me.
Thanks
ive been looking for this too HELP! lol

What laptop do you have?
Have you tried changing ports?
Have you tried using the mouse in a different PC to see if it's the mouse?
More information please, the more information you post the more help I can provide.

is the usb slot a 2.0? and yeah try using the mouse on a different computer could be a faulty mouse.
I have an Acer Aspire 5334
and my USB mouse is a TeckNet - Model of the mouse: M002
The mouse works fine on my PC, it's just because my Laptop often gets hot, but not hot enough to freeze the system, it just seems to cut off the USB mouse on occasion - Yet the touchpad works fine when the USB mouse freezes.. depends though, sometimes the USB mouse freezes totally for a while, and sometimes it just jolts as in it'll work for 1 second then stop and then work.. and then stop.. so it takes me about 10 seconds or so to get from the middle of the screen to the start button lol.
& yes the fan on my laptop works too.

I thought you may of had an Acer, hence why I asked, it seems to be a common fault within Acer's and there mother boards, which I'm afraid means you're probably better off getting a new laptop if you don't want to deal with the freezing or touchpad.
You could try fiddling with the drivers for the mouse and see if it solves the problem;
Control panel > Mouse > Hardware > Properties > Driver
Urf, I'm not bothered enough to go ahead and waste £400+ on a new laptop lol.
Ah well, it doesn't happen that often, I've tried finding my USB mouse in attributes so I could set it as High Priority, but it's not in Processors lol.
Well thanks anyway +rep :)
