The problem with Bieber is he got lucky. There's millions of YouTube singers out there and I bet I could find loads better than Bieber. He was just lucky the right person saw him.

Some people get annoyed by this as there are amazing artists who work hard and never get there. Take a little known UK Artist, David Ford. I was lucky to work with him a few years back, he's really great with a looping pedal which allows him to play an instrument record it and play it back then he can add other layers on top - in other words he can play loads of instruments live, a modern day one man band. He is amazing with words, he writes all his own lyrics and they are very poetic, sings them beautifully to, but hardly anyone knows about him.

And this is just one of many artists out there working hard and hardly getting anything in return. So for someone who's just posted a YouTube video and been spotted and stormed the world, well it can really annoy those trying so hard to get there.

I don't like his music as it's too pop for me. I'm a rock guy, although I do like a good mix, but he just really annoys me.

Boyle is on the other extreme of the scale. She is not the greatest singer ever, yeah she is good, but she isn't THAT good. She was so unexpected it emphasised her original performance on Britains Got Talent(it was BGT, wasn't it?

This is the problem with the industry. When you listen to an album, if your listening to the radio and an amazing song came on would you then hate it if you discovered the singer was ugly?

I like music that sounds good regardless of looks, image etc. I'm not a fan of Bieber cos I'm not really a pop person but I admit his songs can be a bit catchy at times and if he did have a song I liked, I'd like it for the way it was even if I did hate him.

I don't buy her music I've never thought she was good and then she thought she became good when they gave her the nickname of "SuBo" since people started to recognizable her. I have never bought her music and never will as I think she is not good and is overrated and I also don't like her style of music and I don't understand how albunm went first in both sides of the world I think because hey pitied her.

Agreed. She can sing so well. But she's more suitable in singing gospel songs because she has such vocal ability. We don't really listen to gospel songs. We tend to listen to pop, rock, rap, rnb and hip hop these days. So, yeah... Bieber has a lot of potential in being a good entertainer. I don't think he needs any training anymore.

Same's happened before with Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, Miley Cyrus, JLS and all sorts of other acts who've sold outstanding amounts of records. There may not be some deep meaning to most of their music but what they do they do well and it obviously sounds good to enough people for them to become a big name. I remember when Bieber was just about to hit the big time and he was a youtube sensation, everyone loved him then because he was unsigned and doing his thing, but once he made it suddenly it's not cool to like him any more. I partly agree with you. The problem is that it works both ways.

As soon as you say you like an unpopular artist you are told your only liking them because they aren't massive, but as soon as you like a big artist your apparently only trying to fit in.

I admit Bieber is catchy but I'm definitely not a fan. I hate bands like JLS because a lot of them sound generic, they don't bother writing their own lyrics or playing their own music. Yeah people will obviously like them still.
