View Full Version : Changing ISP rant.

Popping on quickly on my 3dongle (I have no usage left and it's costing me 10p per mb) to rant about my current ISP change. Virgin Media didn't cooperate for some reason with Sky and this has left me without internet for what is up to a month now. I thought this process would have been completed in two weeks but now it looks like I could be waiting a further two!
Annoying me further is the fact that you keep having to remind Sky to get on the problem. I've sat on numerous occasions on hold during phone calls that last a duration of around about an hour with no conclusion. I didn't think a company's such as Sky and Virgin Media were so useless at fixing mistakes.

Sky and virgin media have a fractious relationship, they don't like to work together in any capacity. When you contact sky/VM, who do you speak to? Ask for management, make your case known.

LOL. In the time it's taken you may swell have totally cancelled Virgin Media and set up Sky as a 'new' line.

He means instead of quickly switching, cancelling virgin to start with then starting it up with sky. Obviously switching should and would normally be quick.

Well if Sky are needing you to bug them to get on it just say if they don't get on the case you'll just take your business to another provider. The threat of losing customers is one of the ones they normally wake to.

I'd have gone straight onto BT if I were you, Sky resell through BT's wholesale iirc and you may have been able to get BT Infinity, and if not, the unlimited package is up to something like 20Mbps with a 300GB monthly allowance and a free VoIP phone.

BT are meh in my opinion, but can't really compare them anymore because all seem to have gotten worse in the way they limit things in the last couple of years. But have heard many people have problems with BT's customer services.

You have to remember, people will only review things when something goes wrong (generally speaking...) if you go review hunting for most things you'll only find bad reviews.
But yes, their support is shocking and has been outsourced to India as has most things.
