Three days to go. It's gonna be on the BBC all Friday and the highlights will probably be broadcast until 2015. Who's going to be watching?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12920036
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13097243

And who is going to be an idiot and watch it on ITV?

I'd love to go to London and join in the celebrations, but unfortunately I'll be outta town during the wedding so I'll have to stick with the TV.

the ONLY way i'm watching it is if we do the royal wedding drinking game. hopefully though as it'd be jokes (minus the fact i'd have to watch that ****).

I am contemplating going to London but I've no idea where to go so not too sure yet.

I know I will probably be best off watching it at home but I just want to go, get a glimpse, feel the atmosphere. Urgh the excitement!

I Don't really see the point. Wow they are getting married, the probably wont ever do anything for us. I'd rather sit through big brother (and I hate the show)

i'm only watching because i will be willing it to fail. and my mum is doing a buffet and i never turn down food :-)!

Mathew
26-04-2011, 08:22 AM
lol at the drinking game. Impressive.

I think it will probably be on in the background so I'll glance at it. My Mum's cousin is holding a party type thing (hopefully BBQ'ing but I'm not counting on it :P) so that should be a nice little get together. It's going to be a significant part of history whether we like it or not, so hey.. might as well watch it ;D

It was on Sky News this morning that someone is already there in London, sleeping out on the street.. ready to watch the wedding. Crazy, but hey that's dedication :P

I'm boycotting this nonsense. Half of what the UK currently spends on its unemployed will be wasted in one day to watch two unimportant people get married. Bless them, I'm happy for them but it's been really blown out of proportion the bill that the taxpayer will have to pick up.

My mum and family are still trapped in the fifties so are excited to be watching with them all hoping to cry.

Accipiter

They'd probably get more media coverage and fame out of having a small wedding. Like respectable folk would do.

Judging from that reply i'd call into question who is the real snob.

Unlike the politicians, the monarchy do actually do some good you know.

If we had a President we would still get the same officaldom ceremonies, just it would be without the British pomp (which fuels the tourism and embodies our constitution and thus our country) and it would be somebody like Mr Blair or Mr Cameron sitting in Buckingham Palace. Now is that what you republicans really want, a President Blair and his first lady Cherie sitting in Buckingham Palace? personally I can't think of anything more that would signal the destruction of our country as that horrid image.

I shall be watching - the monarchy helps gurantee our ultimate liberty, avoids consitutional uprisings/political crisis and symbolises our country.

I can understand that and the masses of tourism money/trade the event will encourage, but I just can't see it being right that we spend billions of pounds on the event to get a return of millions. I understand the monarchy is the only reason Britain is still a tourism hotspot and trade place, but I just don't want to see two people get married on the television at the expense of billions of pounds while my education is trickled down the drain.

Mathew
29-04-2011, 10:37 AM
Agreed. There's some very proud people there today!

Good old Queen Elizabeth looking as natural as ever in her famous canary yellow outfit.
I noticed Camilla couldn't be bothered singing either, haha :P

Mike Middleton looked so proud, I can't help but wonder what he thought when she phoned him up and said "Hey Dad, I'm dating Prince William".... I bet he's trying to get Pippa off to a rich man now :P Harry?!

Now we have a religious version of Brian Blessed on lolol.

I've been watching since about 10am, it was actually quite exciting watching them all go to the church and when William was on his way he just looked so happy bless him.

Kate looks beautiful and I love her dress. She was proper gripping onto her father's hand as they were walking down the aisle :P The bridesmaids look cute too.

They looked so happy when they saw eachother for the first time - best bit of the wedding!

Mathew
29-04-2011, 10:47 AM
Yeahhhhh, I really enjoyed watching them all drive there - I don't know why :P This whole event is SO traditional, it's amazing. I wish I owned Westminster Abbey.

Would be very hard to calculate.

I mean 300k were watching from the screens at Hyde Park, but actual figures would be, I imagine, near impossible to get.
