Today my sister was almost scammed of our Red Marquee. She was offered a petal patch for it, ofcourse she said yes since its similar price, if not more, but at the last minute she noticed he had put in a GRASS PATCH, which she said looked slightly simlar. Luckily she caught it before she confirmed! Slightly strange but, you never know!

Fairly old scam, not sure how people fall for it, since I don't see how they are similar myself :p

Guess some users might benefit from this though x

i think they look similar but i always hover the items and see the name before i confirm :)

Yeah, I don't know how people fall victim to this nowadays because of the trading taking so long.

It's like all quick traders fail now.

oooo man I remember that!!!

Scripted furni was still a big part as far as I remember back then too. I had to get users to drop the 'throne' in their room to make sure it was real before buying it!

I remember a lot of people trying to scam this way when Grass Patches first came out!

I fell for a similar scam back in 2005, thrones and red plasto and quick trading :(
I remember that scam, lost my first throne that way :(. Was my fault for trying to get the extra Club Sofa though :P!

Tactic is widely popular in any game. Most people don't take those second chances to check out the item.

In most cases Staff can't do anything because they see it as an exchange, not a scam. A user could complain they were confused.

I fell for a similar scam (taking out a gbar at the last second). Happened to me about a year ago or so i think.

But yeah, these types of scams have existed for a long time, and will continue to do so unless habbo introduce new anti scam measures.

Please Look at the items you are trading for to confirm it is indeed the exact item you are trading for. Habbo cannot take responsibility for these problems.

That aside is is a really old scam.. Someone tried to do this with me the other day and i sent the recording to the mods and apparently the user got banned.

That happened to me quite recently he traded me and put it in then he said i have to do something so he cancelled it then he put a grass patch in and i swapped my rare. It was pretty clumsy of me but i'm a bit dopey so it was my fault how i got scammed

It's an old scam, I remember a few month's ago at 6Am in the morning a guy came in and I was talking to him, so I didnt thnk anything of it. Lost 40c lol. No huge o deal. Should of hoverd like I normally do. Fair play on him.

Bit of a Stupid scam to be honest, not an easy one to pull off these days...
