Okay so I'm taking GCSE Music - but I don't have conventional lessons with a teacher, I'm taking it as "extra" and right now - due to lack of teachers - I'm basically self taught through a rubbish book. I DID have a teacher - but he left because his band got a recording contract so that's why I'm teaching myself.

And basically, my brother's god-mother came round today - she's a music teacher & deputy head and basically she went through all this stuff with me and made me realise I actually have no idea what I'm doing, other than the popular music and the basic music theory, I have no clue on anything like main features of blues/africa/indian/baroque music etc. So I was wondering if there are any good sites to revise? And I looked at bitesize, it's not very helpful "/

Thanks Lamar, but I've got that book (it's alright for theory but I know most of the theory) it's just sites to help me remember key features of the styles of music etc. And general music revision. And possibly composition ideas. :P

for my composition... I made two rap instrumentals, one grime instrumental, one dance track & a remix off this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRCJow2tKso).

for performance I did African drumming (gave me sore hands) & I played Ode To Joy on the piano.

unfortunatly... i lost my USB that had all these composition's on. I deleted the youtube channel i had... the only evidence I have is my portfolio which my music teacher is using as an example for the next 2 years, so i gtta wait 1 more year till i can get that :(

I just used my textbook which was this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Edexcel-GCSE-Music-Student-Book/dp/0435810715/ref=pd_sim_b_5

it's really good and I got an A from it wooooo
but cause all the GCSE's changed the year after me it might not be fully suitable for your course, but it does have lots of stuff on the topics you mentioned, but not blues
